Beauty & Style

November 14, 2020

We've all heard the big names of the fashion industry: Forever 21, H&M, Abercrombie, and more. Although, there are so many untapped fashion brands that offer the same amount of style, quality, and flare that you can support just by picking out your favorite looks.

During one of the most difficult times for small businesses, it's more important than ever to do what you can to help them. So if you're a self-proclaimed fashionista, use this article to learn about some of my top small business finds that will help you create a wardrobe perfect for this winter.

1. Dandy Babes

Price Range: $-$$

Dandy Babes, simply put, has a bit of everything. From home decor to jewelry to vintage and up-cycled apparel, this incredible eCommerce business has the most interesting curios. This small business is run by Nicole Sipos, a woman entrepreneur, who adds her simple yet classy touch to almost every item by reworking and up-cycling the clothes herself.

She comprises chic and trendy apparel and accessories for anyone, with any style. One of the unique aspects of this already one-of-a-kind shop is that Dandy Babes curates all of its products and collections sustainably and through supporting other small businesses. In fact, most of their online collection of goods comprises other small business's products.

6. Mantra and Co.

Price Range: $

I have to admit, this is a little bit of a self-plug here as I run this small business called Mantra and Co. We sell dainty jewelry and accessories and donate ALL net proceeds to various charities including, but not limited to, the Innocence Project (helping to provide DNA testing for wrongfully convicted individuals), Genesis Women's Shelter (helping women who've encountered domestic violence reintegrate into society), and several more! We are comprised of a team of teen entrepreneurs looking to make a change in the world.

From a small business owner to all of you, every time you purchase from a small business you are helping to foster a real person, just like you and me. You put a smile on their face and enable them to continue doing what they love and are passionate about! Running a small business takes work, grit, and an unbelievable amount of perseverance (trust me, I can vouch for this part!) So, with that being said, I urge all of you to do your best to shop small and help support these lovely small businesses.
