Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker is now faced with a new life after everything about him, including his secret identity, is now forgotten by many after Doctor Strange unleashed a spell that erased the memories of everyone who recognizes Peter Parker as Spider-Man and returned every character to their original universes. These characters include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, etc.
Not only does Peter have to live a life without the hearts of his life, MJ Watson and Aunt May, he also has to face new threats and potential partners, including Bruce Banner/Hulk, Frank Castle/Punisher, Mac Gargan/Scorpion, etc. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Punisher, Hulk, and Spider-Man will have a big battle between each other until they figure out who is the real bad guy. Although this film will be released before Doomsday and the events in Brand New Day will take place before the film, it is unclear whether Tom Holland will be a part of the Doomsday cast and that Spider-Man will reprise his role.

Another teaser showcases Tom Holland prepping for filming while wearing the full suit. This teaser is the first time we see the new suit and so far, it’s looking very promising. Holland then closes the teaser by saying “Are you ready?”
There will be more teasers and trailers for the upcoming film.
4. Why is Destin Daniel Cretton directing instead of Jon Watts?

Destin Daniel Cretton directed the astonishing MCU film Shang-Chi and The Legends of the Ten Rings that was released in September of 2021, and it has gained many positive reviews for its visuals, storytelling, and bringing light to Chinese heritage. In October of 2024, it was revealed that he will be in the director's chair for Spider-Man: Brand New Day instead of Jon Watts, who directed the last three Spider-Man films.
Why did Watts leave, you may ask? Well, making a movie with George Clooney and Brad Pitt was the reason. He explained that he chose to make Wolfs instead of directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day to go down Christopher Nolan's technique of shooting the scenes himself.
He also saw the film as a change for him. Not only that, but he was also displeased with how Marvel Studios would split his work among several units and wanted to contribute to the film himself. A quote by Watts in The Hollywood Reporter says,
Sometimes you do an action movie, and all the fun action stuff is given to the second-unit director. In the Marvel movies, you split up the work because there's so much to be done. Rarely do you get the Christopher Nolan opportunity to do all of it. On this one, I was like, 'I want to shoot every single shot.'
5. Who are the Potential Villains in the Film?

Well, we all know that Scorpion will be in the film, but who are the others that might make an appearance?
- Mr. Negative: Mr. Negative, whose real name is Martin Li, is a supervillain whose powers include energy manipulation, superhuman strength and reflexes, healing through his positive touch, and corrupting people's personalities through his negative touch.
- Tombstone: Tombstone (real name Alonzo Thompson Lincoln) is a supervillain who has indestructible skin like Luke Cage and has excellent superhuman strength and abilities.
- Boomerang: Boomerang's powers include flying via jet boots and throwing boomerangs that are equipped with numerous weapons, including razor edges, explosives, gravity manipulation, etc.
- Ramrod: A villain who is resistant to injury, durability, and endurance. He was transformed into a cyborg after he was severely injured during his time as a human construction worker.
6. When will Tickets Release?

- Filming is currently underway in Glasgow, making it impossible to estimate a release date for pre-sale tickets.
- However, Marvel Studios does put their tickets up for sale 3 weeks to a month before the film’s release date. They released tickets for The Fantastic Four: First Steps 7 weeks before its premiere.
- Please check with your local theater and keep notifications enabled on Fandango, AMC, Regal, Cinemark, etc.
7. Movie Planning Tips

- Watch all the Spider-Man films in release order (Tobey Maguire: Spider-Man 1-3, Andrew Garfield: TASM 1-2, and Tom Holland: Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home) to understand the quality and impact of Spider-Man movies and the character itself.
- Book tickets in advance the second it comes out.
- Keep notifications enabled for local theaters, Sony and Marvel Studios’ social media accounts, and reputable news sources for more news on the film. I suggest Variety, Deadline, and Hollywood Reporter.
This film is set to be one of the blockbusters of 2026, alongside Super Mario Bros. 2, Supergirl, Toy Story 5, The Odyssey, Shrek 5, The Hunger Games 6, and, of course, Avengers: Doomsday. Considering the way things ended in No Way Home, and so many promising villains and cinematic battles, this isn’t a film you would want to skip.
