Is Teenage the Right Age to Fall in Love?

Love is a complicated emotion. Some may think it’s just another emotion like happiness or sadness, while some may think of it as one of the most intense emotions of all. It’s an emotion that can either build you or eradicate you.

Aren't we all aware of Shakespeare's great love story, Romeo and Juliet? That story didn’t end well. Will our teenage love story destroy us too? Or will it mark our names in a golden book?

Who exactly is a teenager?

The teenage years are a very interesting, complicated time. It’s the period of our life that shapes us, it’s the stage where we get those random bursts of adrenaline that force us to do something that we’ve never done before. Well, to be very precise, it’s the best period of our lives.

Pragmatically, the age group ranging from 13 to 19 is classified as teenagers, and hey, I’m also a teenager. So, let’s discuss what exactly our teen years are all about.

1. Fun Times

The very important thing to do as a teenager is to have fun and enjoy those precious times of yours. Once it’s gone, it’ll never ever come again. We can't stop the sand from falling, can we? So, the first thing to do while you’re in this vehemence fettle is to have the best time of your life.

2. Exploring

Life is all about exploring, but once you get older, the opportunities to explore shrink, so it’s better to explore everything you can at this age. And the topic isn’t just limited to studies or sports, but finding yourself and your passions. It’s the best time to explore and get into something that you really enjoy.

3. Studying for School

This article is not about lecturing anyone to study, rather it’s an eye-opener. It’s really important to focus on your studies at this tender age. As a teenager, we have neither knowledge, nor money to support ourselves, but what we have is a strong grasping power and the ability to learn anything we want. So, to get a better life, don’t distance yourself from your studies.

So, now that I’ve mentioned some of the common things that a teen must do in order to have the best times of their life, it’s time to move on to the most important thing - “Love”.

When is the right age to fall in love?

A wise person once said “There’s no right time to fall in love”, and I dare not disagree with this enticing statement. It’s definitely correct, there’s no right time to fall in love. There isn’t any law stating a particular age to fall in love, so what’s the matter? Why are we wasting our time on this stupid question?

Of course, there isn’t a perfect time to fall in love. You just meet people because you are destined to meet them. No one can stop that.

Who knows, maybe the person sitting next to you in the class could be your future partner? Nothing is ever fixed, it’s an unpredictable life and there’s nothing we can do about it. But as stated above, love is a complicated thing and people often say teenagers are too young to digest this emotion.

For some, sharing leftover pizza is love, while for some, spending quality time together is a perfect definition of love. But is it really important to have a lover at this age? No, it’s not important.

It’s your time to explore, see what happens, and who comes into your life. All things considered, channelling all your energy onto a single person can degrade your rate of growth. No one is saying that it’s a sin to have a lover at this age, but having an understanding between the two of you matters. It’s a crucial time for you to grow so that you can build for the future, so instead of focusing on only one person, it’s better to involve that person to improve your life.

Conclusion

So, what to conclude from this? We saw that love isn't just a random commotion inside of a human brain - it's vastly more than that. It's a feeling that enhances one's emotions, makes us want to do everything possible for our lover, but focusing only on a single person can affect and reduce one's chances to interact with various other things and we may end up missing a lot. So, to conclude, I'd advise you to pursue everything life throws at you at this tender age, while holding on to the person you love, so that both of you may have a happy and enriching life ahead.
