Habits- which are wired into our everyday living- can hold great impact to your everyday lifestyle. If you're looking for ways you can implement some positive practice into your life, this one is for you!

1. Make Your Bed

I know, I know- making your bed every morning might seem like a chore, especially in that sluggish time right at the start of the day, but your nighttime self will thank you.

It's a great habit to implement into your everyday lifestyle, and besides, a good point is that it shouldn't take too long!

2. Stay Hydrated

Drinking water is important! Did you know that you're supposed to drink at least 6 cups (1.42 liters) of water a day?

If you're looking for some extra additions to add to your daily drink, consider adding some lemon slices, cucumber slices, or tea leaves.

3. Fix Your Posture

During studies and reviewing school materials, it's quite common to be in a slumped posture. Make sure to straighten your back and sit properly!

4. Your Liking > Others' Opinions

This one is very important if you want to live your life the way you want to live it. Start valuing your likings above anyone else's opinions- if you have a great passion for something that someone may think negatively of, don't let that hinder you from your love of something.

Additionally, it can be small things, too. If you want to try something new, such as a new fashion aesthetic, new music genres, anything- pick the one you genuinely like instead of following others. What they enjoy may not apply to you, and what you enjoy may not apply to them. Don't let what they might think hold you back.

Make this your life- remember, this is your story, and you are the main author.

5. Enjoy The Sky

The sky is a wonderful gift from nature, and it's always there for you, no matter it is raining, snowing, or sunny. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful as well, and so are the dreamy clouds!

Take a moment to appreciate the surrounding beauty in the sky every day.

6. Put Out = Get In

An important point is that whatever you put out, or input, is what you get in, or your output.

Think of it as this: if you put out a certain amount of energy into something, that result will be heavily determined by your vigor for that project. Did you put your heart and soul into a certain idea? Likely, chances are, the result was something extraordinary and wonderful.

This can be painted into larger pictures, such as your enthusiasm for everyday life; your input of positivity into your daily lifestyle will come back to you in great ways.

7. Stress Less

We all undergo stress at some point in life- but often times, more so than necessary.

One rule of thumb would be to ask yourself: what is the greatness of the certain thing I am worried over? Will this be something significant that will greatly affect me?

If it is something minute and miniscule, it may possibly not be worth that great amount of stress.

8. Find Joy in The Little Things

Things don't necessary have to be something huge to bring you joy.

Perhaps there's a beautifully colored leaf this season of autumn. Maybe the breeze feels cold and chilled against your skin. Or, the little flower growing in between the cracks of the pavement cheers you up a little.

Whatever it is, try to find the joy in the little things; it could greatly change your perspective of life.

9. Recycle

Recycling is a great habit one should have! If your trash needs to be discarded, but matches the description of an item that can be recycled, try to recycle it.

10. Have a Set Sleep Schedule

It does get tough sometimes to stick to a set schedule- especially a sleep schedule- but this may improve your daily lifestyle by allowing you to have a set waking time.

Additionally, this may help you get in those hours of sleep that you need.

11. Reflect on Gratefulness

Take a moment to reflect on what you were grateful for today. It can be anything, no matter how big or small.

Practicing being thankful can benefit you in many ways, and is a wonderful habit to incorporate.

12. Stretch and Take Deep Breaths

Every once in a while, stretch your limbs and give yourself a short break. Additionally, taking in deep breaths is an excellent method to take it all in. This can help you focus and clear your mind, as well as calm down.

13. Have a Daily Planner

Organization skills will take you far in life, and having a daily planner is one of the most essential things that you might need. This can help you stay on track and be updated, and serve as a place to remind you of tasks as well.

Another bonus is that many planners have unique and cute designs that you may just love!

14. Skincare

It may feel different because it's on the outside, but your skin is an organ, too- and it's important. Give it that care it needs!

Having a skincare as part of your daily routine will absolutely help you and your skin. (This goes for wearing sunscreen daily, too!)

15. Leave It Better Than You Found It

An important thing I go by in my personal lifestyle is to “leave it better than you found it.”

What this means is to improve or better an environment or circumstance than when you were first introduced to it. One example would be to join a club and help implement its structure and introduce more members. Another would be to simply put some smiles and laughs on people's faces.

You'll find that helping better a situation will not only benefit others, but you as well!

16. Be On Time

An important habit that everyone should take in is to be on time.

For those that turn out late from time to time, try setting your alarms five minutes earlier than the scheduled time. Most often, it's better to be early than late!

17. Wash Your Hands

Especially in the time of a global pandemic, washing your hands are very necessary.

This goes for every day, all the time; before eating a meal, after getting home from outside, and after using the restroom. Your hygiene is important!

18. Start a Journal

I know- journals can often be hard to keep up with. Starting a journal may even seem like busywork sometimes.

However, journals can help you reflect and keep up with yourself. You could be glad years later to have found your journal or diary from your teenage years.

For those that are unable to keep up with a daily diary- that's me- an idea would be to set aside a monthly journal. Personally, I keep a notebook in which I pre-write questions for myself, and answer them monthly. This helps me reevaluate my goals and keep up with myself from time to time.

19. Solutions > Problems

If you're ever in a negative space where only critical thoughts come to mind, this one is for you. Try to outweigh the bad with the good and start thinking about the solutions to the problems you are facing instead.

Although a short rant may help you get your feelings out, that's only for a brief moment and could even potentially send you down in a negative spiral you wouldn't want.

Instead, try to face the issue you're grappling with and ask yourself, “what are some ways I can go about to fix this?”

20. Set Aside “Me Time”.

Last but not least: it's okay to set aside some “me time.”

Try to set some free time when you get to indulge in whatever you wish to do to rewind- may it be exploring an interest, hobby, or passion- make it about you. Sometimes, we all need a little break to take a breather, and “me time” is quite beneficial.
