Luca Charlton (@mostlyluca on TikTok) is a TikTok sensation with almost 2.8M followers. The sixteen-year-old star usually posts comedy videos on the platform. He is from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and grew up with his sister, Riel. Recently, The Teen Magazine reached out to Luca for an interview.
Talking about his passion for making TikTok videos, the young star revealed that he started back when he was just 12 years old and in grade 7. "It was still Musically back then...the good old days." He said remembering the former name of the platform. I think we all secretly prefer 'Musically' over Tiktok. Naturally, he never believed he would ever gain 2.8 M followers. "I remember being excited to get one thousand followers. 2.6 million wasn't even on my mind.
I was having fun and was just happy that people wanted to watch when I would go live. When people from other countries started following me I was amazed. I don't ever really think of myself as famous."
When you start becoming internet famous, it doesn't only affect you, it affects everyone around you too. Some people can be supportive, others...not so much. Talking about parents, Luca said that they were chill about it. He believes that his parents didn't really understand what was happening at first. " It wasn't until I went to my first meet & greet and girls were screaming my name.
Then they knew it was real." Luckily his family was really supportive of him making great content of the world. Unfortunately, Luca lost some good friends along the way. "They didn't appreciate how important social media was in my world. There was some jealousy as well."
Moving on to his life, he says he has always lived in Vancouver, but he had traveled a lot. "I've been to about 20 countries with my family. Places like Malaysia, Cambodia, Morocco, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. Laos was amazing!" In his free time, he plays video games and soccer. "Otherwise I just hang out with friends."
"Which celebrity/ tiktoker do you stan?" I asked him. "I don't have any favorite Tik Tok user in particular... I just love seeing creative new stuff or things that make me laugh. I stan Iann Dior." Asking about Luca's dream job, he said he loves what he is doing right now, but perhaps, he may try singing. "Being a famous DJ would be lit."
But coming this far in the journey of life had not always been easy. Anyone who spends a lot of time on social media will receive a lot of hate and will be bullied online. Luckily, Luca knows how to cope with it. "You just have to ignore it and accept it otherwise it will destroy you.
Don't read all the comments. ;-)" To anyone here trying to gain fame using TikTok, "Be yourself," Luca advises, "Be real and be yourself. Take inspiration from others, but just be real. Supporters will connect with people who they can sense are authentic."

It was a way to spend time when I was bored.
3. Will you have any upcoming tours?
Yeah I have the Boys of Summer tour in July and August, and events in LA, New York, London, and hopefully in Indonesia.
4. Which animal is your ideal pet?
I love all animals, especially cats. But, the ideal pet is a lizard! (Fairly enough, I did not expect that answer)
