Made up of five members, Sani, Kihoon, Namhyun, Jungmo, and Junyoung, Catch The Young isn't your typical K-pop group.
Even their group name, Catch The Young, is outside of the box. Sani, the leader and bassist of the group, says it means to "always pursue youth and carry on an energetic passion,” fitting well with the group’s concept.

Their concept centers on the theme of youth, particularly the emotions often associated with it: excitement, love, heartbreak, and hope. Songs like "YOUTH!!!" and "Dream It" strike and resonate deeply, capturing the feeling of coming-of-age and being young.
What makes Catch The Young so unique is the fresh and nostalgic vibe they present.
“We create and interpret our music in our own genre called Youth Pop Rock,” Kihoon, the band’s guitarist, says. “Just like our name, we aim to make sounds that everyone can enjoy and relate to, while keeping a unique style that defines us.”

As you might be able to tell, Catch The Young is not your traditional K-pop group. Not only does the group sing, but members also play different instruments to accompany their vocalists.
When asked about how each member came to be in his role in the band, each member said they started with a love for either their instrument or singing, and that this love eventually led to the formation of Catch The Young.
"All of us had been pursuing music individually in our own ways before coming together as a band," Jungmo, who plays the drums, said. "So you could say that each member naturally chose their own position in the band!"

In addition, Namhyun is the group's main vocalist, while Junyong is both a keyboardist and vocalist. Junyong also holds the position of maknae, which is the youngest member of a group.

Making Music They Love
Catch The Young plays an important role in the creation and performance of their songs. In fact, throughout most of their songs, they are listed in the credits as composers.
"Typically, one of us brings a demo to the group, and then everyone helps refine and develop it further until we’re ready to record," said Namhyun when asked about the group's creative process.

Junyong elaborated on this, saying, "When there’s a demo ready, each member records their instrument and contributes their part. Other times, we develop the song through live sessions, evolving it together during band practice."
This process is what makes Catch The Young's music much more unique and different from other groups. Listening to any one of their singles feels authentic and genuine, just like them.
Their Newest Single, “안아줘 (In Your Arms)”
“안아줘 (In Your Arms)” starts with warm guitar chords, immediately striking a sense of nostalgia and warmth to the listener. The vocals are buttery smooth, and the overall melody feels familiar and wistful. The lyrics talk about missing someone, captured in a ballad that any youth can relate to.
Kihoon had a poetic response when asked if he could describe the song. "Everyone has moments when they feel small or challenged. During those times, instead of hiding or suppressing those emotions, I hope we can rely on each other and become stronger and more mature together."
All members agreed when saying that their fans, called Catchers, were their biggest source of strength. Junyong in particular said, "The song carries a warm message that we’ll be there to hold you when you’re tired or going through a hard time."

The dreamlike single was accompanied by a music video, where the members can be seen in a room, surrounded by vintage objects. A standout object was a vinyl record player, where Namhyun placed a vinyl record, and then some miniature furniture. The vinyl starts to turn as the members smoothly transition onto a rotating platform that mimics the record.
When asked about any fun behind-the-scenes moments while filming the music video, Namhyun mentioned this platform. "The spinning floor in the studio was more dizzying than I expected. I actually lost my sense of direction a bit while singing, but looking back, it was quite a funny moment!"
Overall, Sani captured the essence of the song in a few sentences: "It portrays the feelings of solitude and memories everyone carries in an honest way. It’s one of the few ballad-style songs we’ve released so far, and I believe it’s something many people will relate to."
