As the leaves change from olive green to cherry red, our lives transform in the autumntime with the start of school. Fall fashion is always so exciting and fun to experiment with, but the morning rush of getting ready for school takes away that enjoyment. I know the feeling all too well: Staying up all night last-minute studying for a test and then accidentally oversleeping the next day and then scrambling to find something cute to wear to school.
And when I don't have a good outfit, it's hard for me to feel put together throughout the school day. It's something nearly every high school student has been through. Here are my top tips for creating the perfect fall outfit on the go.

1- Decluttering by Finding an Aesthetic
For me, my biggest problem when trying to create a cohesive outfit in the morning is having to sort through all of the clothing I own that I don't truly like and the clothing I do like. All too often, we’ll buy pieces without analyzing whether or not we truly enjoy them. This makes it so that our closet is filled with meaningless clothes. It’s important to be intentional with what you own, and the easiest way to do that is by developing a personal aesthetic.
I think that it's important to identify an aesthetic to center your fall wardrobe around. Everybody has a different sense of personal style, so make sure that every piece you own is something you truly eliminate clutter. This will help with getting ready on a time crunch.
You can do this by deeply analyzing various aspects of your favorite pieces, such as color schemes or patterns. For example, maybe you'll find that you tend to wear more grayscale clothing, or that all of your best jewelry is gold. It's important to note that you don't have to stay with this certain aesthetic all the time. Fashion is supposed to be experimental and fun! However identifying what kind of clothing you gravitate towards will ensure that your wardrobe is intentional, removing the spontaneity of selecting an outfit you don't feel comfortable with the morning before school.
Analyzing and decluttering my closet and identifying an aesthetic helped me make sure that what I chose to wear was deliberate and something I felt comfortable and confident in. I realized that my mornings are more seamless and less stressful.

2- Organizing
It’s often to know what's in your closet or overlook certain pieces due to lack of organization. This used to be the case for my wardrobe, and I found that I would have to spend more time trying to find something I actually felt like wearing in the morning before school. I found that this is a problem that many of my friends also face.
Even smaller things like scrambling to find matching socks can take up so much time. I realized that organization is key to saving time.
It may be helpful to spend some time sorting your pieces by color or type and arranging them in a way that is easily accessible. It’s also important to make sure that you are able to see everything you own because it will make sure that everything is being used a fair amount of time. Sometimes when I find myself with some free time on my hands, I’ll go into my closet and create pairs of outfits that I think are cute.
This trick is a lifesaver because it eliminates spending any mental effort during rushed mornings on what to wear. My outfits are also a lot more coordinated when they have been prepared beforehand. To do this, you can go into your closet and put together pairs of shirts and pants that you would wear together and hang them on a hanger together. You can also create coordinated jewelry stacks or sock pairs to go with your clothing! This will save you so much time and stress in the mornings.

Brands
1- Uggs
Undoubtedly, Uggs are the autumn shoe. They are used by everyone from the average teenage girl to the biggest of celebrities. They are incredibly popular on social media due to their style, versatility, and comfort.
They offer a range of colors and styles to choose from as well! The ones I currently am obsessed with are the Cluggettes. Other popular types to choose from are Disquettes, Scuffettes, and Tasmans.
The brand was founded in the 1970s by an Australian surfer and has been adored ever since. They received a rise in popularity in the 2000s after Oprah Winfrey was seen wearing them. They are known for being made of sheepskin and fleece, which provide a sense of warmth perfect for autumn weather.
2- Brandy Melville
Brandy Melville is an Italian fashion brand, known for their simple and minimalistic style. They have timeless and cute designs which makes them a popular autumn clothing choice. I personally adore their sweaters and sweatpants due to their comfort and effortless minimalism. They provide a less expensive alternative to other brands such as Lululemon or White Fox.
The company was started in the 1980s by an Italian man. It was named after a fictional story about an Italian man named Melville who fell in love with an American girl named Brandy. It is still today one of the most popular fall fashion brands for teen girls.
Putting an outfit together
1- Layering
Fall is the perfect time to experiment with layering. Putting together a cohesive shirt and jacket or stacking a bunch of gold jewelry can enhance an outfit and bring it to the next level. A well-done layer will make you look more put together.
2- Color scheme
Having a color scheme that works together harmoniously will automatically increase the cohesion and harmony of an outfit. This can be done by “sandwiching” your clothes within a color scheme or layering them a certain way. In autumn, maybe try exploring shades of brown and red to match the season.
Fall is a gorgeous time of the year. Exploring autumnal fashion can be so much fun when it isn't done under the pressure of getting ready for school!
