The most exciting thing about going back to school is definitely buying new supplies and outfits. Choosing your outfits for back to school, especially, can be a hard and stressful process. If you are in desperate need of some fashion inspiration, you do not need to look further, because here are some cool back to school outfit ideas you absolutely have to give a try!
#1: Checkered Flannels
Checkered flannels are a definite must-have. They match really well with some light blue denim jeans and a black or white top underneath. Pair your favorite white sneakers with all of these, and you're ready to go.
These flannels are available in a lot of colors, so you can get yours in your favorite one. I like the checkered flannels from H&M the most.
#2: Cute Collars
Adding a collar underneath any sweatshirt you own, can really have a big impact and give the outfit a cool turn. Collars are perfect for school as they give an academic vibe and make your fit look a lot more interesting, too. Like in the picture below, they look the cutest with black and white shoes, and you could always style your hair up in a claw clip.

#3: Turtleneck Jumpers
Turtlenecks jumpers will keep you warm and cozy and will make you look so chic too. They come in all colors, but my favorite ones are the navy blue ones and the green ones. They are a bit different from minimalist turtlenecks because they are thicker than the regular ones, perfect for mixed weather.
I think these statement pieces go really well with flared jeans and some gold jewelry, but you can match them with whatever you like. I always get my turtleneck jumpers from ZARA.
#4: Oversized Shirts
You definitely have to add some cute oversized graphic T-shirts to your wardrobe. They match with any sort of jeans you have. I like them the most with some baggy, ripped blue jeans.
You can get them in all the colors you'd like, and they are really easy to throw on, on a lazy morning before school. So simple, yet so cute and stylish. I like the oversized shirts from SHEIN and Fashion Nova the most. But you could also always try the men's section at any clothing store. There are some cute pieces there if you search well enough!
#5: Flared Leggings
Not only are they super comfortable and perfect for long school days, but they also make really cute outfits! Black flared leggings go well with anything you have in your closet. Sweatshirts, T-shirts, crop-tops etc.

#6: Split Jeans
Split jeans have gotten some recognition last year, and they are still going! It's a simple addition to any "traditional" jeans, but it changes your whole look so much. Split jeans look great with an oversized sweater, and the splits fall perfectly over some simple sneakers.
If you want the splits to be on the front, a bit more subtle or if you want them to be even more noticeable, that's all possible too. You can get the split (hem) jeans you prefer at PLT, ZARA and H&M.
#7: Oversized Vests
These vests are ideal for school, where the temperatures can change often. Really simple, but still a must-have piece of clothing. Just grab the jeans you prefer, put on a cropped black/white top above it, and finish the outfit with an oversized vest in your favorite color.
If you want to, you could always add some jewelry to spice up your outfit even more. I like the oversized vests from Brandy Melville the most.
#8: Funky Knit Jumpers
These funky colorful knit sweaters are probably all over your Pinterest page already, and it's definitely a sign. They are so cute and comfortable and come in a lot of different colors and formats. My personal favorite, though, has to be the green one in the picture below. These are available at YESSTYLE and SHEIN.
#9: Cargo Pants
Yes, you need a pair of cargo pants in your closet. I'm calling it: they're going to be making a comeback again this year, so it's better to be prepared! The famous colors in which cargo pants come in are beige, black and olive green.
My favorite one is the cargo pants in the color black, like in the picture below. As you can see, they go really well with a cropped turtleneck/long-sleeved shirt, but you can also wear your favorite T-shirt or sweater with it. My favorite cargo pants are from Stradivarius.
#10: Rory Gilmore Sweater
And last, but surely not least, the famous Rory Gilmore Sweater. If this sweater doesn't give you the biggest back to school vibes, then I don't know what does. This iconic sweater is therefore absolutely suitable for school.
It keeps you warm and cozy, and honestly, who doesn't want to feel like Rory Gilmore on a boring school day? It matches really well with a pleated skirt, but will go perfectly fine with some black or dark blue jeans. This sweater is called a 'cable knit sweater', and you can get it at H&M.
