The story of Bydee began around the Hairis family kitchen table in 2013. Founder and Creative Director Dee developed her ideas through Sydney markets before launching the fully realized international brand in 2018.

Reminiscent of slow mornings, golden-hour swims, and sun-warmed skin, the Sel De Mer collection wraps you in the rhythm of island life. With this collection, crochet, beads, and charms create a tactile, luxurious experience that makes you feel connected to the craft behind it.
Color palettes for every season are all the rage, and I’m here to tell you that the unexpected, unique combinations are already the latest rage. For this season, Bydee is playing around with the eye-catching palette of sun-warmed browns, foamy greens, and painterly tile designs that hum with the quiet magic of summer.
The Zavanna
Zavanna is an ode to the imperfect beauty of the natural world. Featuring deep cocoa tones and softened shapes, this print feels like pressed petals in a travel-worn journal.
Every detail, from hand-crocheted trims to hand-sewn beads, elevates the swimsuit into something more than swimwear — it’s wearable art.
Out of this collection, the below is a personal favorite:
The Badalona Top is a halter style with adjustable triangle cups and a tie-back closure. Each cup is edged with a Pantone-matched chocolate brown hand-crochet trim in 100% cotton. Brushed gold elongated beads are hand-sewn along the inner cup and base, creating a cascading shimmer effect.
My favorite part is the matte gold crab charm finished with a brown resin center. It feels like a tiny talisman you can carry to the beach.
The Malaga Bottom is minimal coverage (as in, MINIMAL) with a V-front detail. Wear it hipster or high on the hip— you can’t go wrong either way. The front and back waistbands are edged with the same chocolate brown crochet trim, and brushed gold beads are hand-sewn throughout.
The end ties feature warm orange and brown resin beads with alternating matte gold-zinc alloy conch shell and crab charms. My favorite detail here is the careful layering of textures — the crochet, beads, and charms all feel handcrafted yet luxurious.
The Solara
A soft palette of sunlit oranges and gentle greens, Solara melts like a fading summer sunset.
Think twilight swims, barefoot summer strolls, and the lingering scent of salt in the air. The gathered cross-over panels and thoughtful detailing elevate each piece, giving it an effortlessly chic, resort-ready feel.

The Kefalonia Top is an adjustable triangle cup with a tie-back closure and adjustable straps. Gathered cross-over panels frame the cup edges, creating a subtle sculpted effect. The matte gold crab charm finished with a brown resin center adds a signature whimsical touch.
My favorite part is the way the cross-over panels catch the light. It feels like the top moves with you, almost like liquid gold.
The Corfu Bottom is a cheeky coverage designed to be worn high on the hip. A thick, stretchy waistband shapes into a flattering V, mirroring the top’s detailing. My favorite thing about this bottom is how sculpting and comfortable it is; it’s playful yet perfectly practical.
The Azania
Azania pulses with tropical energy. A vibrant mosaic of island spice markets, hand-painted tiles, and Seychelles-inspired color palettes, it’s bold, playful, and unmistakably Bydee.
Every detail — from contrast bindings to beaded charms — draws the eye and makes the set feel alive.

The Barcelona Top is halter-style with adjustable triangle cups and a tie-back closure. I love how the subtly beaded contrast binding adds texture without overwhelming the print. The double-sided straps give it modern flair, while the matte gold crab charm with brown resin center adds a signature Bydee touch. The playful contrast between the structured fit and the whimsical charm is simultaneously strong and flirty, and I couldn’t be more obsessed.
The Prague Bottom is a long-time favorite of mine, because it’s moderate coverage without feeling way too “grandma-like” with sleek lines and multi-colored contrast binding. I love the dipped V-front and back design; it gives such a flattering silhouette while still feeling effortless and beach-ready.
How to Wear Sel De Mer
Sporty by the sand or lounging by the sun, Bydee’s bikinis are designed for versatility. Adjustable tops allow for a perfect fit, and for the bottoms, you can easily wear them high or low on the hip.
If anything, when it comes to style, there are no rules.
