This outrage from the public worsened after a wealthy couple, Sarah and Pacifico Discaya, who operated several construction companies, were seen in flaunting their multiple European and US luxury cars. However, they were not the only ones involved in this scandal. The owner of a construction company accused nearly 30 lawmakers and officials of taking cash payments. Lawmakers and officials were allegedly pocketing huge amounts.
These events led to people naming and shaming these officials and their children online. The comment sections in videos of these Nepo babies showing themselves on luxury vacations and their expensive bags, were filled with angry citizens. The top trending videos were of citizens calling out how a single outfit a nepo baby wears costs more than most of their yearly salaries. The people of Morocco were protesting because their government used public finances to build a new luxury stadium in preparation for the 2030 FiFa world Cup. The government is using all these resources while the people of Morocco who lost everything because of an earthquake in 2023, are still living in tents. The poor are pushed out of homes with nowhere to go because of this stadium.
The hospitals are overcrowded and under-developed without medicine, schools packed with too many students and not enough teachers, youth left unemployed. Protesters were shouting “We don't want the World Cup; we want health care first”. They just want to have basic needs fulfilled.

Staying silent only protects those who fail us...
Besides the 4 protests in this article, there were many more around the world. These protests are far from over; they are still happening almost every day. A common theme in Gen Z led protests is not just who is leading the protests but what they are protesting for and against, the Government.
Though reasons may differ, these protests have shown how the government neglects the people they swear to protect. People are dying because of the Governments greedy mindset. Do not turn away from people struggling, if it makes you uncomfortable to look at it, imagine them, they are living it. Life is so short, we deserve to live one worth living, staying silent will never change anything. The system they created that keeps creating wealth gaps beyond our imagination. We feast on empty promises, clutching the pennies in our pockets, while their pockets stay full.
