Why Smoothie Bowls?

Smoothie bowls have many health benefits, the first of which being the amount of fiber they are able to pack into one bowl. Unlike juicing, smoothie bowls retain the fiber from fruits and veggies, which helps you feel fuller, longer. After eating a good-sized smoothie bowl, it will help you keep off hunger and unhealthy snacking later in the day.

As well as fiber, most smoothie bowls are also high in antioxidants, and vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, manganese, and potassium. However, the bowls are not high in protein, so supplementing them with eggs or cheese would form a great meal to start your day off right.

Secondly, these bowls are picky-eater friendly! A great component of smoothie bowls is the fact that they can adjust their flavor to whatever you want them to be. As you can see from the recipes above, smoothie bowls vary greatly depending on what you put in them.

You can adjust any recipe or create your own in order to craft a bowl that you both love and is unique to you. Whatever kind of fruit you like, there is a bowl for you!

Smoothie Bowl VS Smoothie

Although both a smoothie bowl and a smoothie involve the blending of ingredients, the two are not the same. While a smoothie is treated as a drink accompanied by a meal, a smoothie bowl can be treated as the meal itself. However, the biggest difference is in the texture, which allows the smoothie bowl to hold up other ingredients, such as nuts and granola, which help sustain you throughout the day.

The smoothie bowl invites personalization, as there is a wide array of toppings to pick and choose from. Although the smoothie and the smoothie bowl are built off the same concept, it's up to you to decide whether you'd like blended fruit as a drink or your whole meal!
