Being healthy doesn’t have to be boring, try out these delicious healthy snack ideas to start off that healthy lifestyle you have always wanted. These snacks are not only aesthetic but also so good for you inside and out!

Peanut Butter Mug Cake

Mug cakes are really trending right now since they are super delicious and aesthetic, and they are also the perfect after school, winter snack! Unfortunately, mug cakes and muffins aren't quite the healthiest options and the cravings really don't help the fact that they aren't the best idea whilst trying to get in to shape, but this recipe has got you covered since it contains no added sugar and all the ingredients can be substituted to healthier options if need be!

Not only is this recipe really quick to make and can take less than five minutes, but you don't actually need any cooking skills what so ever in order to make this delicious cake, and just to save you from that extra washing, only requires the mug and a fork. This recipe is also super filling and energizing as it contains lots of protein.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of oat, coconut, almond, normal and another flour substitute

2 teaspoons of maple syrup or honey

2 tablespoons of organic peanut butter

3 tablespoons of any kind of milk you like
1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips

How to

Simply put all the ingredients into your mug and mix well with a fork then microwave for 1 minute and a half, top with whipped cream or ice cream, and enjoy!

Smoothie Bowl

Some say that smoothie bowls are only a summer treat, yet I believe they are the most delicious snack all year round, smoothie bowls are just so fun to make since you can personalize it to your own taste.

Smoothie bowls are also very fun to experiment with since there are thousands of different fruits and veggies you can try and with this recipe, you can easily adjust the ingredients to your personal preference. Smoothie bowls are super refreshing and filling. I'd say either have one if you are in need of a heavier snack or you can even have it as a breakfast or lunch if you like.

Ingredients

2 bananas

2 handfuls of any frozen fruits you like

A splash of any type of milk

1 teaspoon of peanut butter

(toppings) any fruits, nuts, or seeds

How to

Put all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth, this may take a while since it's a very thick mixture, Then put into bowl and top with desired toppings.

Energy Balls

Energy balls are perfect for a gym day if you need that shot of energy with just a bite. They are also so easy to carry around and take with you in your bag for a delicious and quick snack and just to make them better, they are no-bake! These are super fun to make and last a really long time in your fridge.

I love to have one of these just before a workout to keep me energized throughout, but they are also great after a workout if you're in need of an energy boost!

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 cups of rolled oats

2 tablespoons of chia seeds

1 handful of chocolate chips

5 tablespoons of peanut butter

1/2 a cup of granola

A handful of chocolate chips (optional)

How to

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix with your hands if the mixture appears too dry add more peanut butter and if it seems too sticky then add some more oats. Roll up into small balls and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Choco Milkshake

There is nothing better than a refreshing milkshake, but they tend to taste a lot better when you know they are good for you and of course delicious.

This drink is perfect to put into your water bottle for whilst you're at college or school since it's very easy to drink and perfect for that boost of energy you're craving. This delicious shake is also lovely to have after a run or workout, or even for breakfast!

Ingredients

2 bananas

A quarter cup of (your preference) milk

2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of coffee grounds

2 tablespoons of peanut butter

5 ice cubes

How to

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and serve in a large glass

Make Fruit More Fun

Here are three different ways to make your fruits and veggies more delicious and filling, although very tasty, sometimes fruit can appear a bit boring and by simply adding these toppings, you should find the fruit will be much more tasteful.

These are really fun ways to enjoy your fruits and vegetables there's aren't any directions as you simply just add the suggested amount of toppings!

Ingredients

Apple

To make your apple more tasteful you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon, another way to enjoy your apples more is by sprinkling a bit of salt and pepper on them.

Bananas

A great way to top your bananas is by spreading some peanut butter on them or by spreading some dark chocolate sauce on your banana.

Celery

Celery can seem quite boring but if you want to make it more fun you can spread peanut butter on your celery stick and add some chocolate chips.

Hummus and Dip

Although many people know of this snack, it is very underrated as more people need to give it an opportunity. The idea of veggies appears as unappetizing to some but there are so many great ways which you can make them more fun to eat and this is one of my faves.

This snack is great to have on the table if you have guests round, or you can even have it by your side whilst your working as it's easy to eat.

Ingredients

2 carrots chopped into long sticks

Cucumber chopped into sticks

2 celery sticks chopped into thick sticks (any veggie of your preference will work, these are just examples)

5 tablespoons of hummus

How to...

Simply serve your hummus in a small bowl and dip your veggies in to enjoy!

Rice Cakes

Rice cakes are so fun and healthy, there are many ways in which you can top them, and they are very filling. You can have them as a snack or even as a lunch if you would like.

These are super easy to do and are a great substitute for a sandwich if you are trying to make healthier food choices.

Rice cake number 1:1 tablespoon of peanut butter and half a banana finely chopped

Rice cake number 2: 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam

Rice cake number 3: 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt and a couple of blueberries

Just spread the toppings over the rice cakes and enjoy!
