If you want to see the original place of cherry blossoms, you’ve got to go to Japan! A professor named Masataka Somego from Tokyo University of Agriculture said that cherry trees started about 10 million years ago in what is now Nepal. Some of the best places to see them include Shinjuku Gyoen, Ueno Park, and Yoyogi Park.

Then, they changed a bit and grew into special kinds that are only found in Japan. How cool is that?

According to the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC, and celebrates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan. According to the International Cherry Blossom Festival, every March, Macon turns into a super cool pink paradise when tons of Yoshino cherry trees start to bloom. It’s like the town is covered in soft cotton candy! Macon used to be a quiet little southern town, but now it’s really busy and full of beauty and friendship from all over the world.

5. Vancouver, Canada

Do you know what else this Canadian city is diverse for? That's right, cherry blossoms! According to Wanderlust Magazine, Vancouver’s love for cherry blossom trees started about a hundred years ago when the mayors of Kobe and Yokohama gave 500 trees to be planted at the Stanley Park cenotaph to honor Japanese Canadian soldiers who fought in World War I. Over the years, Japanese-Canadian people added even more trees, and now there are more than 40,000 cherry blossoms all over the city!

Our absolute favorite place to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower in the early morning is super awesome because it also has the best cherry blossoms in Paris, no matter the time of year! According to Monsoon Flowers, these flowers show universal appeal from Washington, D.C., to Paris; cherry blossoms are celebrated worldwide, symbolizing peace and friendship between nations.
