Tini Lux was created when it was clear that there was a need for sensitive-skin-friendly jewelry. "All I wanted were simple earrings that wouldn't cause a painful reaction, but I couldn't find anything that worked," writes founder Jackie Burke, "I had given up wearing earrings years before because every pair (even “nickel free” and “hypoallergenic” earrings) almost instantaneously caused soreness, swelling, and bleeding. I tried so many pairs of earrings with the same results every time: pain and frustration. In my search for safe earrings, I discovered that I didn't just have sensitive ears, I had actually developed a contact allergy to metal from years of wearing earrings made with reactive materials."

This is where Tini Lux came into play. Built on the philosophy of keeping jewelry completely transparent and safe, Tini Lux makes it possible for anyone and everyone to accessorize and feel beautiful.
"There are no tricks or hidden agendas here. We know sensitive ears are caused by metal allergies (a.k.a. contact dermatitis). We want to give you ALL of the information you need to make an educated purchase," says the brand.

To make their jewelry completely safe to wear, Tini Lux only uses two metals for their earrings:
1. ASTM F-36: Pure, unalloyed titanium.
"This is the safest metal for sensitive ears because it is the least likely to cause a reaction. We use this for almost all of our earrings," says the brand.
2. ASTM F-167: Implant grade titanium.
"This is an biocompatible alloy. We use this for some of our flat back studs."
