Bridgerton, the Netflix series that captures global fans' hearts, is releasing its second season in fewer than 2 weeks. I could no longer contain my excitement and had to venture up here to talk about it.

What is the Bridgerton series about?
Based on the best-selling novels by Julia Quinn, the series is based in the Regency Era, featuring a famous aristocratic family called Bridgerton and the events, or scandals, surrounding the courting/marriage season in London.
The Bridgerton family has 8 sons and daughters, and each novel features the love stories of each of them.

Season 1 tells the love story of Daphne, the Bridgertons' eldest daughter, and the season's Incomparable.
The series also introduced us to the other members of the ton, the dramas and gossip and competition in the marriage mart. The series is narrated by Lady Whistedown, a mysterious writer that probes the ton's business and writes about it in the most fascinating and amusing fashion in her gossip column.
What Has season 1 left us with?
Season 1 ends with Daphne and her husband, the Duke of Hastings, making up and living happily ever after. We see the Duke finally move on from his father's neglect, and allow himself to be happy with Daphne.
We also see the end of Marina's scheme of trapping Colin Bridgerton, the third son, into marriage. She accepts a no-love marriage to Sir Phillip Crane, who, according to one of the future novel sequels, will play an important role later.
Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton child, is rejected by his lover and determined to never fall in love again. He is a rather interesting character, but more on that later.
And the most shocking part? Lady Whistledown is revealed to be Penelope Featherington, a shy, timid girl whom the ton never pays attention to or notice. Penelope also has a crush on the charming Colin Bridgerton, but he only holds her as a friend.

What is Season 2 mainly about?
Season 2 features the love story of Anthony Bridgerton. I have read most of the Bridgerton series, and Anthony's story is my absolute favorite!
Anthony is the eldest child and the eldest son, holding the title Viscount Bridgerton after his beloved father died when he was young. He is very devoted to his family but is reputed among the ton as the Rake (a wealthy man with questionable habits and sense of morality).

Season 1 shows him as rather arrogant and impetuous, so I hope season 2 will do the character justice and shows his human, deeply hidden side.
Anthony's love interest is Kate Sharma (Kate Sheffield in the novel), a confident, bold, and unshakable woman. Kate has a sister named Edwina, who has the interests of many suitors, including Anthony. However, they need Kate's approval to win Edwina altogether.

Anthony wishes to marry Edwina only to "fulfill his duty" to his family but has no feeling for Edwina whatsoever. However, over time, he grows madly and conflictingly attracted to Kate.
What they have is expected to be a kind of enemy-to-lover story, so yes, it will be very captivating indeed.
How they turn out to be lovers and form a connection with each other, I shall not reveal or know just yet. It is in the book, of course, but the series might do it differently. We will find out.
What Do We Hope to See in Season 2?
Even though Daphne's story has ended, I do hope to see a fragment of her now happy life and how she will take what she learns to help Anthony.
Now that Lady Whistledown is revealed, let's see how that changes how we see Penelope. Also, is there anything going to happen between her and Colin?
With her sharp wit, Lady Danbury is surely a force to be reckoned with. I look forward to her interactions and remarks on the ton, which are usually quite funny and perceptive.
And what about Eloise's first season and that mysterious man who was smiling at her in the trailer? Who is he, and what role will he play? Also, now that her husband is murdered, how will Lady Featherington, a rather disdainful woman, change, and how will her family survive?
Most importantly, what is going to be added into Anthony and Kate's story that is different from the book? So far I know that there is a shooting scene. I'm most excited to see these two's chemistry, their quarrels, and how they grow to love each other.
