Daughter Earth is a botanical skincare brand that aims to create the best formulas through scientific research and plant-based bioactivities, all while being conscious, ethical, and creating impact at the grassroots. "We do this at the confluence of advanced science and ancient Ayurveda - the ancient Indian science of life." says their website.

“Science meets sustainability.”

Recently, we got in contact with Daughter Earth to test out a few of their products. This article talks about retinol, its magical effects on skin, and then it focuses on a detailed review of Daughter Earth's Serum Absolut and 100% Vegan vitamin E Lip and Cheek Tint.

Why is Retinol good for skin?

Retinol is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin-A but falls under a broader category of retinoids. When applied topically, this product will convert into retinoic acid through specialized enzymes that are found within the skin. While retinoic acid can be applied topically it is harsher than retinol creams or serums, because it does not naturally convert over time.

It is a magic serum which is gaining great popularity lately. It is being recommended by almost all beauty guru and skincare artists mostly because of its surprising results. Retinoids reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen.

They also stimulate the blood vessels in your skin improving texture and glow. Not only that, it can reduce acne and even skin tone. Basically, if this product is missing from your skincare routine, you need to add it right away.

However, some people are sensitive to retinol and experience irritation, peeling, and flaking. So, make sure you patch test it first before applying.

But, don't worry, Daughter Earth is here with a powerful facial treatment serum with Bakuchiol- a plant-based retinol alternative, and blue-light rescue actives with clinically proven ingredients at prescription strength.

My experience with Serum Absolut

My motto is all good products take time for a change to take place. I tried a 30-day challenge with Serum Absolut, including it in my nighttime skincare routine, and recorded the changes observed. On day 1 after applying, the skin felt immediately smooth.

However, those effects were not long-lasting. In the morning, I found the smoothness gone. The same happened for a few days.

After 15 days, I could start observing visible changes. I could feel the skin texture visibly improving. More surprisingly, my skin felt more hydrated and moisturized. I have naturally super dry skin so this was astounding for me.

After 30 days, my skin was totally amazing! The fine lines and darkness around my eyes due to staying up all night and staring at my phone had vanished. This was probably because of the blue light serum present in it.

My skin was super hydrated with amazing texture! And it was really visible because my friends and family were complimenting me about it!

All the claims of this serum are absolutely true and if you are searching for a good serum go for this one!

100% VEGAN VITAMIN-E LIP & CHEEK TINT

According to their website, 100% Vegan and Nutri-active, vitamin E enriched Lip & Cheek Color is clean, safe, and kind. It gives your lips and cheeks a naturally flushed look and a soft petal pink tint. This little joy of color is crafted consciously and is an ode to the first color of life on earth when its first life cyanobacteria bloomed in bright shades of pink over 1.1 billion years ago.

100% Vegan vitamin E Lip and Cheek Tint is formulated with

  • Safe and vegan mineral pigments
  • Candelilla Wax - a kinder and plant-based wax is used instead of animal byproducts such as beeswax. The formulation is beeswax-free, bee-friendly, kind, and vegan.
  • Vitamin E and Vanilla are potent antioxidants that fight free radical damage.
  • Shea butter, Moringa, and Almond oils nourish the skin deeply and help prevent transdermal water loss by forming a protective lipid barrier, thereby fighting premature aging of lips.

Apart from the light heavenly odor of this tint, it has a rich creamy texture. The application is super easy and there are several shades available. The tint gives a simple bold look to your lips and cheeks and gives a beautiful natural look.

It lasts long enough. It's so light that you won't even feel it on your face.

All you need to do is dab a little on your lips and cheeks and you're set for the day! While this isn't my favorite lip tint in the whole world, it definitely comes in my top 15 list.
