About Arlo

Arlo is a relatively new swimwear brand that launched in 2017, but the company already has released many distinctive collections that have seen much positive reviews. The brand is keen on making beach suits that are adorable and trendy- and ones that won't leave any strange criss-cross of tan lines. Another winning factor, of course, is that they aren't crazily pricey!

I decided to try out two of Arlo's collection: The Stassi and The Sofia. I immediately fell in love with The Stassi as it had an innovative feature- a two-way style- and with The Sofia, I really found its cinched top and bright color options gorgeous and unique.

The Stassi Set

The Stassi top is reversible- meaning it can be worn two ways. The first way is a more revealing, smaller top, and the second option shows a strapped bandeau with a cute keyhole cut on the bottom. In other words, you're getting two for the price of one- and that's what I call a steal!

I chose the white color option (out of the red, white, and black) as I loved the bright and classic feel it gave. The fabric felt cool and buttery, and perfect for lounging comfortably in the sun.

The photo below shows a very creamy color, but in reality, the color is more white. I would say it isn't a blank-canvas-white, but not the deep-creamy-ivory; the hue is more of a balance in between, and really pops well against all skin tones.

The lining is also triple-lined, giving you perfect support for all your fun water activities.

Stassi Version 1

This style of the Stassi is a sporty-like top with a keyhole cut in the middle. I loved that the keyhole wasn't overly too large, but also that it wasn't tiny, either. It was just the right size!

In the back, a clasp brings together the back form with a V cut (which forms version 2). The straps tend to get a bit longer as the V shape shifts to accommodate the back pane, but I'm here to assure you it won't be much of a distraction or concern.

Stassi Version 2

Style No.2 of Stassi brings you the V shape to the front, and the keyhole to the back.

This version is baring- and while accentuating the front part, it was snug and fit perfectly. It's a very revealing look- a daring style, if you could say- and I would most definitely say this brings you the solution to the terrible sun tan lines- you won't have to worry at all!

Stassi Bottoms

The bottoms are thinner than your typical cuts. I found it beneficial for better suntan lines (bye-bye to the awkward lines!), but I wouldn't say it to be a conservative shape. I would place it on a scale of 5.5 with 1 being the thinnest, and 10 being incredibly covering.

Arlo's website does list their style to be thin/bare-cut for adventures that are supportive and for fun in the sun without the bad aftermaths of the light- so the thinner cuts are to be expected!

Order Stassi

With Stassi, you can order just the top or bottom, or the entire set. Each top and bottomr retails for $25 each (what a steal!) and the entire set is $45. There are three color choices of Ivory White (creamy ivory-hue), Midnight Black (jet black shade), and Scarlet Red (bright, fire-engine red). To shop the same ivory Stassi as mine below, check out the collection here.

The Sofia Set

The Sofia comes with a top with a ribbon-tied cinch to the middle, and a triangle cut bottom that elongates the legs. The fabric is ribbed, which was an added plus. The color I opted to go with was Citrus Love, although it was a tough contender with the lovely pink hue of Candy Pop.

With Citrus Love specifically, the site shows as a bright neon green- and I was not let down! This shade really popped against my suntan, and was a sparky, special color. Even with some dips in the pool, the color did not fade and remained bright as ever.

Sofia Top

The top comes with many adjustable strings. There's one for the halter neck, one wrapping around the back, and one in the middle of the top that runs through to give the top the ruched look. I found it incredibly cool that you could pull down or up the ruched top strings to control the amount of cinch. It was so innovative, and I was pleasantly shocked and thrilled!

Sofia Bottoms

The bottoms for here were a thicker cut than the Stassi- I would scale it to a 7.5 with 1 being the thinnest, and 10 being incredibly covering.

I absolutely loved that the Sofia bottoms were high-cut. As you can see pictured in the image, it is placed in a cut in the shape of a mild yet defined V- and this most definitely elongates your legs. This feature was so unique, and I totally loved it!

Order Sofia

The Sofia retails in set pair only, and is at the cost of just $50 for both top and bottom. The color choices are Citrus Love (neon green) and Candy Pop (medium-dark pink). To shop the same neon green Sofia as mine below, check out the collection here.

Overall Review

I definitely have to mention that one thing about Arlo I found helpful was their feature allowing customers to shop different sizes for tops and bottoms. This feature is not so common among other swimwear brands (and even just regular sets in streetwear), and this is tremendously considerate to those with different body types.

Another aspect of Arlo I enjoyed was the most expensive set price on the shop was only $55 (in US dollars). For some brands, that's just the top half of a set! Arlo, however, proved that swimwear can be high quality and trendy while still keeping your bank intact.

I also have to say how much I love, love, love Arlo's bikini fabric quality. To be honest, I don't think I've ever came across such a swimwear brand with the softest, butter-like quality- ever! I'm totally hooked, and it feels so smooth and kind to your skin. I am in love!

Stay Connected

I highly recommend Arlo- I seriously was shocked by its quality, design, and price. You'll surely fall in love with it, and your beach trips will be even more perfect.
