Are teenage years some of the best years of our lives? One might find themselves asking this question quite often.
Being a teenager is the toughest and easiest thing on this planet. Managing academics with athletics, social life, peer pressure, and self-care is a lot to do. It's the time you have to think about looking good, having good grades, extracurriculars and having a good social circle.
With so much going on in their brain, one might feel burdened. To help with this burden, we have a group of friends who help us through anything and everything – the people with whom you plan all your future trips and all your summer plans. You tell them all the gossip and drama and laugh like nobody else is watching. Over the years, these friends become your family.

Through the years we experience a lot of changes physically and mentally. This results in replacing our opinions on almost everything. This is also the time when we get easily distracted by a single notification pop-up because that text might be a life-or-death situation for us.
In these years of our lives, we desperately find something we can relate to and depend upon. For some people, this might be finding solace in Taylor Swift's songs or sports or just sitting on the beach and hearing waves crash. We desperately crave comfort, support, and attention.

Appearance
During these years we get more body-conscious. Pressure about not being “good enough” wanders through our brain whenever we see someone we perceive to be better than us. We fall under peer pressure and try things which might not be best for us.
We are unable to understand the complexity of our body and easily tend to take extreme measures to achieve our ‘dream body’. The word ‘balance’ doesn't occur to us.We don't understand the importance of balance and hence don't follow it.
It effects our confidence, mental health, and even decreases our self esteem. We feel judged by anyone who sees us and overthink. Thoughts may differ for everyone, but slowly and steadily, we eventually get into a better relationship with our bodies. Instead of filling your mind with negative thoughts, embrace and learn to love yourself.

Relationships
High school heartbreaks or high school sweethearts? During high school, we start developing romantic feelings and discover who you really are. Eventually, we find a person we are interested in and want to spend the rest of our lives with. Either the couple would last and will be called high school sweethearts and you break up, then that might be your first high school heartbreak.
Getting into your first relationship feels magical. But, getting your first heartbreak might be unimaginably hurtful.

These years might not be great for everyone, but who doesn't dream of becoming similar to a protagonist and returning to the school reunion with everyone being surprised by looking at you? Everyone wants to be perfect during high school. But is being perfect for us or to show everybody?

Everything and Everyone
Our lives revolve around our social image and what everyone thinks of us. Even the slightest opinion about anything can make us rethink all of our decisions. Some might even overthink and doubt themselves.
But at the end of the day, we have to be healthy and satisfied with ourselves. We don't have to be perfect but happy, not for everybody but for us.
Even though an immeasurable amount of issues are faced, we never fail to learn from them. In the end, the journey is worthwhile. So to answer the question, yes teenage years might be the most significant and confusing years. But the boundless joy and liberty we experience is incomparable to any other time of our lives.
