Most of us individuals often forget that this is our life, and we have full control over it. We are the main characters of our own story and we shouldn’t let someone else take the spotlight.

We all have both good days and bad days. However, it is important to remember that it is your life and you are allowed to turn it around by doing what’s best for you. 1. It’s not your fault

Do you always take accountability for all the terrible things that have ever happened to you? Saying, “This is all my fault. I deserve it!” If you do this, then you immediately need to stop.

Although some things do occur as a consequence of our own actions, that does not mean you intended for it to happen. You are not in charge of what’s about to come forth. Nonetheless, you can replace the negative attitude with a positive one. Instead of putting the blame on yourself, try saying, “This did not go as I planned, and it is not my fault. But I can try an alternative.”

See? That sounds so much better.

2. Words of affirmation

We all crave for someone to tell us, “I am so proud of you!” or “You are so smart!” But why wait for others? Why not try telling ourselves these encouraging words? When you stop seeking others’ approval, you will start to realize how most of it was unnecessary.

No one knows you better than you know yourself. Only you know how you always pull through everything even though the whole universe tries to tear you down. Only you know how much you had to study to get an A on that math exam.

So don’t wait for them. Tell yourself every day that you are resilient and worth it.

3. Don’t give up

Just like a movie always ends, so do bad days. Bad days will end and the good days will arrive, and you must not give up. Don’t give up on yourself.

If something isn’t working out, try an alternative. You are so much stronger than you think you are. When life gets overwhelming, it feels almost easy and natural to give up.

However, that won’t benefit you or make you feel better. You are gifted, regardless of what others tell you. Allow yourself to fall apart and then get right back up. You need yourself.

4. You can do anything you want

It is your life. Hence, you are perfectly capable of achieving anything your heart desires. If you have goals, and it can be something minimal, please never give up on them.

You can’t expect your life to change miraculously. You have to actively work towards your goal and have the determination to achieve it. No matter how big or unrealistic you think your dreams are, start working on them.

Destiny plays its role; you never know what is possible. The most important part is that you will know that at least you tried your best and that’s what matters.

5. Don’t wait for someone/something to come around and change your life

You are the protagonist of your own book. If there’s anyone who can flip your pages, it is you. This goes back to what I mentioned about achieving your goals.

As long as you set your mind and attitude, your story will take a massive shift. Thinking that you need someone/something to live your life to the fullest won’t benefit you at all. It will only waste your valuable time.

Ultimately, you’ve got only one short life. So waste it wisely.

6. You are capable

Don’t be harsh on yourself. After all, all this while, you have done nothing but try your best at everything. You should take some time out to reward yourself for making it this far.

When people say, “Life is short”, it really is. Time flies by in the blink of an eye, and you won’t even realize it. Therefore, we have to make the most out of our lives.

It’s okay not to be gratified by life currently because it will pass. Life won’t be the same as it is today. And now it’s your choice whether you want to let it get better or let others take the wheel.

If you have already tried or are trying these tips daily, I’m really proud of you. And if none of these works, all you have to do is take a look within and ask yourself what is best for you and why. Living life to the fullest means you are staying connected with yourself, which will then allow you to have limitless opportunities coming your way and make adequate decisions that will satisfy you. Most importantly, don’t forget to be kind to yourself.
