1. A Kind Compliment

Compliments are the easiest and get-go method to brighten anyone's day.

There is such a wide range and variety of ways you can give someone some positive thought- perhaps they have a dazzling outfit on, or maybe their new haircut looks nice! Whatever it may be, tell them something kind- it'll make their day.

Food for thought: just a reminder you don't necessarily have to compliment someone you know very well. It can be a completely random person, or somebody that you may know the face of, but can't match a name to. It can be anyone and everyone!

2. Keep In Contact

Just a simple text message, email, or telling someone in person (although, safely, considering the current pandemic situation) is a lovely way to give anyone a mood booster.

Ask them how they are doing, how their day went, or just that you miss them. Tell them that you'd like to keep in touch- and show them that you care about them. Even better, if you are able to, consider having a face-time call virtually.

3. Happy Post-Its

Giving a kind note is a simple idea you can do in minutes: grab a sticky note and write a short and sweet message. Stick it on the person's desk, locker, really anything- and wait for a smile to bloom on their face!

Out of ideas what to write on the sticky note? Don't worry; below are some ideas- feel free to use them as you need!

You're important. I care about you. I like your smile!

You matter. I think you're amazing.

Additionally, consider adding small drawings and doodles to the side to give it some extra specialness.

4. The Drive-Thru Chain

You may have seen this online or on social media; the Drive-Thru Positivity Chain is when the person in front pays for the person behind them who ordered in the drive-thru chain. The person that was behind that had their item paid by the front would then pay for the person behind them. Then, the chain would continue so on.

If you are able to, consider to be the one to start the chain! It might just make someone smile today.

5. One Reason Why

What's one reason why you care about a specific person?

Whether it be their hilarious humor, their never-failing ways to support you, or just their presence itself, there's always a reason for everything. Tell them what makes them so special to you- I can promise you it'll make them incredibly happy.

6. Thank You Letter

Writing a letter- especially handwritten ones- can be very meaningful.

If this is one random act of kindness that interests you, I encourage you to write someone a letter thanking them. Your letter of gratitude can be addressed to anyone- perhaps the local fire station, your teachers, the mailman, or the local librarian- and you would be writing to express your thanks.

7. Care Packages For Those in Need

if you are thinking of ways to give back to the community, care packages are an excellent idea.

Composed of essential and heartfelt kits, care packages are a wonderful way to show your love. Such examples would be a hygiene pack or a hot meal for those in need, or a bag filled with goodies and trinkets to cheer somebody up.

If you are wondering who these care packages can be addressed to, you could perhaps send these to the local homeless shelter, nursing home, or a children's hospital.

8. Throw Away The Litter

It's heartbreaking to see litter all over our planet. An act of kindness towards the earth and your community would be to host or take part in a clean-up- or just simply pick up and discard the trash whenever you see one.

9. Flower Bouquets

Flowers are beautiful, and is a sure way to bring a smile on someone's face!

Flower arrangements can be found at your local florist or simply the grocery store. You could also get creative and arrange a bouquet on your own to gift someone.

10. Read Aloud a Story

Books are filled with wonder and much significance- consider reading out loud a story to share with someone.

Whether they be your sibling, your grandparents, or a group of young children at the library, you could read them a story they'll cherish and enjoy.

11. Forgive and Amend

Sometimes, letting go is the best thing you can do. Forgiving and apologizing can help you let go of the weight of burden that's been sitting on your shoulders.

You may be hesitant to reach out and be the one to start on this change, but it may very well be worth it. Making amends may be the act of kindness you need to do today.

12. Offer To Do it For Free

If someone is in need of a quick service, such as babysitting or dog walking, offer to do it for free, if you are available to do so. Your simple act of service may help someone out- and is certainly an act of kindness that will spread some love and positivity.

13. Get Creative With Art

If you're a talented artist, or enjoy creating art as a hobby, consider gifting your artwork to someone. You could even create a personalized piece to make someone's day!

14. Support With Feedback

If you ever came across a small business or a local restaurant that you loved, consider giving them a raving review. This not only shows that you had a positive experience, but also helps their business.

Additionally, make sure to tell the owner/chef your love for their work, if you can!

15. Tell Them You Love Them

Last but certainly not least, tell them that you love them. This is very meaningful, and life is to be lived with love. This short phrase can truly warm people's heart.
