You’ve just come home after school and need a snack, but you don't know what to reach for. With so many options available, it can be hard to choose. This article is here to help!

I have compiled a list of 10 snacks to try that are easy to make, yet super delicious. All of the snacks listed below are full of healthy ingredients and will help boost your energy. From classic snacks to healthier alternatives, there's something here for everyone.

These ten snacks are sure to tantalize your taste buds and bring a smile to your face. So if you're looking for something new to add to your snack rotation, keep reading to find out which 10 snacks you should try.

1. Yogurt Parfait

Yogurt parfaits are super healthy and delicious, so what’s not to love? Yogurts are high in protein, calcium, and many vitamins, all of which help boost your heart health. There are many different flavors and types of yogurt, from plain yogurt to lemon-flavored yogurt.

Plus, though traditional yogurt contains dairy, there are now many dairy-free yogurts available that are made from soy or oat milk. A yogurt parfait is a great after-school snack because it is filling, while also giving you the nutrients you need for completing your homework. I typically make my yogurt parfaits by putting granola and raspberries on top of vanilla yogurt, but, there are numerous other ways to make yogurt parfaits. Some examples include adding seeds or nuts on top of the yogurt.

2. Fruit Salad

A fruit salad is a perfect after-school snack. Fruit salads are extremely customizable and they don’t require much work. There is no right way to make a fruit salad.

In fact, you can add any fruit you want! That being said, my preferred fruit salad contains kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, raspberries, bananas, grapes, grapefruit, and mangoes. Besides fruit, you can also add many toppings to your fruit salad, including mint, almond flakes, or honey.

3. Trail Mix

Trail mix is a great snack for after school because it requires very little work to create and it is super healthy. Most trail mixes are high in protein, as well as fiber and fats, so you'll feel full and sustained for the rest of the afternoon. Trail mix is also a natural energizer and will temporarily boost your energy and mood.

Trail mix is a snack mix that usually contains granola, nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate, but there are many options when it comes to trail mix. You can buy an already-prepared trail mix or you can make your own. If you are creating your trail mix, all you need to do is gather your ingredients and put them in a bowl.

So if you need a simple snack right after school, try making yourself some avocado toast. Making avocado toast is very straightforward, all you do is toast a slice of bread and then spread mashed avocado on the bread. Avocado toast is much healthier than grabbing cookies or another sugary treat as a snack, so consider trying it the next time you need a snack.

5. Nut butter Sandwiches

Nut butter sandwiches are classics because they take no time to make and are incredibly delicious. If you are just coming home from a long day at school, then a sandwich is the ideal snack to make. Most nut butter sandwiches don’t require any cooking and only need a few ingredients.

Plus, nut butter sandwiches have an abundance of health benefits, from helping your heart health and providing protein. Now, there are several types of nut butter, each with its own health benefits and tastes. Some examples of nut butter are peanut butter, almond butter, pistachio butter, and even hazelnut butter.

Experiment with mixing these different kinds of spreads with the toppings of your choice to find your favorite sandwich combination. Personally, I love both almond butter and sunflower butter and combine both of these with grape jelly, but there are thousands of blends! In general, nut butter goes well with tons of other flavors, including fruit and honey.

Plus, breakfast egg muffins are very customizable, so you can enjoy the ingredients you love. To make these muffins, mix eggs, cheese, cream, and chopped vegetables together. Next, line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and divide your mixture into the muffin tin.

Lastly, bake the mixture for 20 minutes. What makes this snack so unique is that it is so simple to make, but the muffins can last for several days.
