Winter Style Secrets That Instantly Level Up Your Outfits: Lorna Murray Accessories That Completely Transform Your Cozy Weather Looks

Fashion

December 01, 2025

It’s the season of falling snow, chilly breezes that turn our cheeks bright red, and sunsets before you’ve even had the time to have dinner— winter is fully here.

My closet reflects this. Gone are the days when I wore my colorful sequined sundresses and brought out the dramatic woven hats. Now, my shelves are stacked with knit button-up sweaters and oversized coats.

But that doesn’t mean winter fashion has to be boring.

If anything, it provides such a unique opportunity to layer up and bring some special pizzazz to your looks. After hours of research online on all of my favorite style inspiration forums and social media, here is what I have uncovered for this winter season:

Layer, Layer, Layer

Add a pop of an unexpected element under all the boring stuff of knit sweaters and woolly jackets. Wear a lace slip under and show off the trim, or add a block of color with the undershirts. Keep fashion interesting!

Textures Are Everything

Mix the textures for a cooler-than-cool look. Have on a fuzzy sweater? Pair with classic denim.

Have a suede jacket? Pair with some matching brown corduroy. The possibilities are endless.

That brings me to the biggest finding of them all:

Style is Nothing Without Accessories

From gloves to hats, winter is the perfect time to bring out the coolest accessories you wouldn’t be able to wear otherwise. For that, I’m turning to Lorna Murray.

Lorna Murray is a lifestyle brand that I see synonymous with a persona who is so well-traveled, well-read, well-educated, and well-enlightened to all the beauties of the world that it’s so mesmerisingly attractive and inspiring.

The Australian brand was founded by Sydney-based fashion designer and textile artist, Lorna Murray.

“Global foraging fires her imagination and compels her vibrant creative practice. Lorna’s passion for colour, texture, pattern, adornment, cloth embellishment, art and craft is part of her lineage,” shares the brand.

"Lorna is constantly fuelling her love of textiles, design and community artistry, whether in the South Pacific Islands learning traditional weaving techniques, in Northern Australia learning from Aboriginal elders the art of dyeing natural fibres and creating dilly bags, in Malta making lace or in India studying embroidery, block- printing, miniature painting, floristry and paper-cutting.

Simply being open to happenstance anywhere she goes nourishes her global consciousness and inspires her art and design practice."

Although best known for its iconic summer hats, its handcrafted designs span all seasons, even including cozy winters.

Without further ado, below are my favorites from their latest winter collection:

It’s A Beanie Girl Winter

I have been completely obsessed with beanies this season, and it seems like the rest of the style world is, too.

There’s something so chic about the way it tucks in your hair but keeps the lovely locks still framing your face. It’s also the perfect touch to make an outfit feel truly complete, and the cozy look is seriously just so adorable.

A winter classic with a contemporary twist, the Jindabyne Beanie wraps you in the soft luxury of pure lambswool. I love how the Fair Isle motif feels reminiscent of wind-carved, delicate, vintage-inspired snowflakes. The texture is feather-soft yet surprisingly resilient, making it the ideal companion for frosty morning walks and après-ski strolls. Finished with a structured, rolled brim and Lorna Murray’s subtle leather logo tag, it brings a crisp, cool touch to any look.

The Burradoo Beanie is a love letter to traditional cable knitting, but reimagined in supple, 100% merino wool. I’m obsessed with the warm terracotta tone; it brings out that natural winter blush after a brisk walk outside. The wool’s natural insulating qualities will keep you comfortably cocooned, while the neat turned-up cuff gives it a tailored, polished look. This is the kind of effortlessly chic piece that becomes a permanent fixture in your seasonal rotation.

Soft as a whisper, the Day Trip Beanie is crafted entirely from plush cashmere in a sandy, understated neutral. Its cable-knit body feels indulgent without trying too hard, but the real magic is in the whimsical pointed tips that give it a subtly feline, slightly mischievous silhouette. It’s playful and luxurious without being loud, and might just be my new all-time favorite.

Practical But Also Film-Star Stylish

These gloves are what I call film-star stylish.

These stunning gloves are so versatile and timeless that they look like something Audrey Hepburn would have worn, but they’re also something that your favorite fashion influencer would also wear in her OOTD. Now that’s what I call a true, classic staple.

Crafted from buttery, all-cashmere yarn, these gloves cover the hands with a softness that feels almost decadent. Their elongated silhouette is strikingly elegant, giving them the illusion of opera-length sleeves.

Noir | Winter House Gloves

With fingers free and thumbs gently framed, these gloves are designed around your everyday routine so that you never have to compromise comfort. Whether you’re texting, journaling, or wrapping your hands around a hot latte, these gloves are actually workable into your everyday life.

It’s the kind of accessory that turns even the simplest winter outfit into a moment.
