It’s the season of falling snow, chilly breezes that turn our cheeks bright red, and sunsets before you’ve even had the time to have dinner— winter is fully here.
My closet reflects this. Gone are the days when I wore my colorful sequined sundresses and brought out the dramatic woven hats. Now, my shelves are stacked with knit button-up sweaters and oversized coats.
But that doesn’t mean winter fashion has to be boring.
If anything, it provides such a unique opportunity to layer up and bring some special pizzazz to your looks. After hours of research online on all of my favorite style inspiration forums and social media, here is what I have uncovered for this winter season:
Layer, Layer, Layer
Add a pop of an unexpected element under all the boring stuff of knit sweaters and woolly jackets. Wear a lace slip under and show off the trim, or add a block of color with the undershirts. Keep fashion interesting!
Textures Are Everything
Mix the textures for a cooler-than-cool look. Have on a fuzzy sweater? Pair with classic denim.
Have a suede jacket? Pair with some matching brown corduroy. The possibilities are endless.

I have been completely obsessed with beanies this season, and it seems like the rest of the style world is, too.
