I didn’t know my shower products were really that good until I had people literally stop and ask what perfume I’m wearing when I’m not even wearing any. That’s when I knew I was onto something.
I’ve tried a lot of products before, but most of them either had scents that faded too quickly, were full of stuff I didn’t feel great about putting on my body, or just didn’t work.

Lush, however, has genuinely been a game-changer. Words like “organic” and “clean” get thrown around a lot nowadays to the point where they lack meaning, but with Lush, it’s not some buzzword they’re throwing around. When they say using natural ingredients is better for your skin, Lush really makes me believe that some of the best products are remedies straight from our planet.
Everything’s made fresh, organically, and with real care, and when you apply the products, you can actually feel it. I’ve made it a point to step away from a lot of the big beauty brands that are mass-produced and overhyped. Lush has always stood for something more, and I think that’s why their products feel so personal.

You Don’t Need More— You Just Need What Works
Lush started as a reaction to the stale, overly packaged, chemically loaded products other brands were putting out. The more I learned, the more I started noticing how much unused beauty stuff just sits in people’s bathrooms, collecting dust.
Lush doesn’t want you to have more. They want you to have what actually works for you, so nothing goes to waste. In a world where influencers are pushing every product into your face, I wholeheartedly think they are hitting on a major issue: it’s about getting back to what we actually need, not selling some impossible beauty fantasy.

In addition to that ethos, the fact that they’re working to reduce waste, protect wildlife habitats, and cut preservatives while still making things that smell like rainbows and feel like magic is truly admirable. They’ve been fighting animal testing before most people even knew that was a thing.
The Line Up I Swear By
All that to say, I always get asked what I use, so here are a few things that have stuck around in my shower lineup, even after trying a million different products:
Step 1: Shiny Clean Hair
A shampoo made with actual beer, fresh lemon juice, and balsamic vinegar might sound like a niche kitchen experiment, but this formula works because of those ingredients, not in spite of them.

The stout is rich in protein, which helps strengthen and add volume to your hair, while the lemon juice and vinegar cut through buildup and boost shine. Somehow, it doesn’t smell like an English pub. It smells kind of herbal, citrusy, and clean in a way that’s hard to describe but so good.
I honestly didn’t expect to like this as much as I do. The first time I used it, my hair had that rare combo of being super clean and soft at the same time. For most shampoos, you either only get one or the other, but the fact that I ended up with no dry ends and also no weird residue is truly a standout.

Also, the bottle is made from recycled plastic, and it’s thinner than most to cut down on waste, which I really appreciate.
Step 2: Smooth It Out
This strawberry-vanilla conditioner has been around forever at Lush, and honestly, I get why people are obsessed.
It’s one of those products that feels nostalgic the second you use it. The scent is warm, fruity, and a little creamy, like strawberry milk with a vanilla swirl, and it actually lingers in your hair all day without being overpowering. I’ve had people ask what perfume I’m wearing when it’s just this.

But scent aside, the formula is genuinely solid. The honey in it draws moisture into your hair without making it greasy, and the fresh orange juice gives it that soft shine that makes your hair look alive in natural light. I didn’t even realize my hair was looking dull until I used this and noticed how much smoother and glossier it felt.
I usually smooth it through the ends of my hair and leave it in for a minute or two before rinsing. It’s lightweight enough for everyday use, but still rich enough that I’ll skip leave-in products after.
If you want your hair to smell like dessert and feel genuinely healthy and soft, this one’s a no-brainer.
Step 3: Get Minty Fresh
This one’s for the days when you cannot be bothered to function, but still want to emerge from the shower feeling like a person again. I reach for this when I need a full reset: mentally, physically, emotionally, all of it.
The Intergalactic Shower Gel smells like a blast of peppermint air conditioning in the best way. It’s bright, bold, and just a little bit sweet thanks to the grapefruit, with something deeper that grounds the whole thing and keeps it from smelling like candy. It honestly makes my entire bathroom smell fresh and clean, which I love.

The texture is this deep, cosmic blue, plastic-free glitter—but don’t worry, it doesn’t stick to your skin or leave a mess. The glitter rinses clean, and there’s something really satisfying about how it lathers just a little shimmery.
I tend to use this when I’ve had a long day, or on groggy mornings when I need my shower to do something.
Step 4: Glitter Up
There’s something kind of magical about this product. One spritz and life is just so much more whimsical and sparkly.
The Glitter Mist isn’t your average glitter spray that leaves you sticky or somehow gritty (not sure why most of them feel like Kraft glue?). This one goes on soft, almost dewy, and leaves behind the prettiest shimmer without overdoing it.

Carrageenan is the star ingredient in this bottle. It’s a seaweed-derived hydrator that softens your skin and keeps the glitter evenly suspended in the mist. The plastic-free glitter is, of course, infused into the mix and catches light in that subtle way where people do double-takes, but can’t quite tell why.
I usually do one spritz on my collarbones and one through my hair before heading out. It’s the kind of product that doesn’t change your whole look, but it elevates everything. Even on low-effort days, this gives me a little boost of confidence.
Step 5: Mist and Go
There’s something special about that breezy, textured, “day by the ocean” kind of hair, but saltwater is a bit hard to come across in a busy school day. Luckily, Lush’s Sea Spray Hair Mist might be the closest thing to accomplishing that look.
What makes it work so well is the mix of fine sea salt and seaweed extract. The salt gives your hair grip and volume (especially at the roots), while the seaweed keeps it from getting crunchy or dried out. Somehow, it manages to boost texture and leave your hair soft, which is a rare combo for a volumizing spray.

The scent deserves its own paragraph. It’s this fresh, floral-citrus mix of neroli, grapefruit, and rosewood, and it honestly smells so good I’ve used it purely as a hair perfume.
Plus, the bottle is travel-friendly, and I find myself tossing it in my bag for whenever I want to give my hair a little fix up on the go.
The Ultimate Back to School Kit
If you’re heading into a new semester of school, starting a routine from scratch, or just need a little something to make your study nights less chaotic, the Intro to Beauty Sleep kit is a really good place to start.
It comes with five mini versions of Lush’s most relaxing products, and together they make a solid nighttime lineup that’s simple but so good.
Angels on Bare Skin is a gentle cleanser that smells and feels a little earthy. It’s got ground almonds and kaolin clay, so it lightly exfoliates while still feeling creamy. It’s perfect for when your skin feels kind of dull or stressed out. Plus, it's so gentle, anyone can use it.

Beauty Sleep Mask is thick, luxurious, and looks so berry-licious good it makes you want to eat it. A quick pop in the fridge and applying a layer of thick, cool clay to my face just calms me right. I use it when I want to feel like I’m doing something good for my skin but also just want to relax for 10 minutes.
Posh Chocolate Shower Gel is the wildcard here, but in the best way. It’s rich and warm, like a grown-up version of hot cocoa. It’s not overly sweet, and is just indulgent enough.

Sleepy Soap is what you’d expect if you’ve tried anything from the Sleepy line: soft, creamy lather with that classic lavender-tonka scent. It’s cozy and comforting without being too floral.
Dream Cream is super lightweight but still hydrating, and it sinks in fast so you’re not going to bed feeling sticky. It has oat milk and chamomile, so it’s great if your skin is on the sensitive side. When I apply this cream, my skin stays hydrated for hours— sometimes days.

Back-to-School Glow Up That Works
When life gets busy, it’s easy to let self-care become an afterthought. But having a few go-to products that smell incredible, feel luxe, and actually work can completely change the way you carry yourself through the week.
Whether you’re trying to romanticize your study night at the library or just need a ritual that helps you power down, this is your sign to that you don’t need to overhaul your entire routine— you just need the right handful of things to make you feel like yourself again.
