2. The Grand Canyon
Famous in America, the Grand Canyon is the definition of a sight to see. The Grand Canyon is an eroded land that has become so breathtaking to see that people come from all over the world to take it in. It is thousands of feet deep and miles upon miles big. It is a major deal for people who especially love learning about the Earth and even geology.
Along with seeing it, the Grand Canyon is also a great place for exercisers of all kinds. Walking, running, hiking, and more can all be done at the Grand Canyon due to its great terrain. Water sports are also enjoyed by many at the Grand Canyon, with some people canoeing, for example. Overall, this majestic and earthly wonder is not just something to gawk over, but rather become active on as well.
To add to its enchantment, the color palette that the Grand Canyon possesses is beyond words. Its gorgeous array of oranges and browns can easily be marveled at. But its real beauty unfolds when sunset hits, as the pink and blue sky reflects itself on the Grand Canyon in an ample manner. It’s most definitely safe to say that the Grand Canyon is a top sight for anyone in the world to see.
3. The Northern Lights
Perhaps most extraordinary of all, the northern lights are something that everyone must see at least once in their lifetime. Native to but not only restricted to Alaska, this array of lights in the sky is something right of a well-crafted movie.
Every year in Alaska, the sky becomes a canvas with different atmospheric colors painting it with deep strokes. Green, purple, and other colors can be seen shooting across the sky, making the world look a little more eccentric, to say the least. The winter time is supposed to be the best time to go as that is when the lights are reportedly best seen due to it being darker out during that season. Surely, it’s worth the coldness to get to experience this natural wonder.
On some nights, it’s even reported to see pink lights in the sky, with the casting down an almost unrealistic spectrum. Red is even sometimes seen as well, with it streaking the sky in between the other, more prominent colors.
While the reason for these lights is complex, it can be simplified as that Earth's magnetic field is bombarded with particles from external sources in space, thus causing the lights to be created. Besides Alaska, Canada and the States can sometimes see the lights too depending on the time and day, but of course, Alaska always remains number one.
