Let's face it: The 2024 summer music scene is going to be a tough one to beat, but with these bangers (old and new), you are guaranteed the aux for the whole summer. Here are some fan and personal favorites to add to that poolside playlist!

'Swim Good' - Frank Ocean
This is probably the oldest song in here (and yet, I was still alive...sigh), but I don't think it has ever gone out of style. It's catchy R&B rhythm and smooth vocals make this song so relaxing but fun.
'Apple' - Charli XCX
As you can tell, I am mentally having a second BRAT summer. This dance pop hit took the Internet by storm with a viral Tik Tok dance trend, instantly making a song of the summer.

BRAT is also home to your favorite '24 hits, including "Von Dutch" and "360", so we're definitely keeping Charli's rep alive this summer. She gave us everything we could want and more last summer!
'Tonight' - PinkPantheress
The dance pop hits continue with this Gen Z national treasure. Pink does it again by dropping another synth pop masterpiece this spring, prior to her album drop Fancy That a month later (which is an outstanding, solid album)!
'Good Graces' - Sabrina Carpenter
Y'all know how much I love me some Sab. She definitely took summer by storm last year with her certified platinum hit, "Espresso", which was only the beginning of her reign of 2024.

Short n' Sweeet was one of my favorite albums last year, and we are keeping it alive with this fun summer bop.
'Leave Me Alone' - Reneé Rapp
As one of the more recent songs on the playlist, many of us theatre nerds have put Reneé Rapp on the highest pedestal with her exceptional performance as Regina George in the big screen and Broadway hit, Mean Girls. Now, she carries her voice into the mainstream pop industry with this catchy hot girl summer anthem, this song personifying the definition of confidence and independence.
'California' - Beabadoobee
Like Sabrina, this album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, deserves to reign another year. "California" has a way of making my summer feel freeing and fun without all of the synth and bubblegum pop. Other songs like "Beaches" and 'Take A Bite" match that vibe, if that is what you prefer.

'Adventure of a Lifetime' - Coldplay
If any song in the world warranted me to stick my hands out the sunroof and feel the wind rush through my fingertips, this would be the one. Coldplay is known for their electricity and positivity that that instill in their music, so no wonder I feel like doing a daring yet spontaneous activity after this song comes on!
'B2b' - Charli XCX, Tinashe
Yes, there is another Charli XCX song. No, I do not care. I wasn't messing around when I said BRAT summer is forever.
This song is apart of her (also) critically-acclaimed BRAT remixes with different outstanding artists on each one, this one being my girl, Tinashe. I just love this song, it is such a bop.
'Sundress' - A$AP Rocky
It was only a matter of time before this song would resurface on the internet because of how catchy it is (and the countless times my Insta mutuals have used it in their stories). If a good vibe was a song, this would be it.

I promise you, if you bump this song, heads will turn and you will be credited with a great music taste (just make sure you tell them that Morgan put you on!).
'400 Lux' - Lorde
Disclaimer: I could go on an essay-length rant about how earth-shattering this album is, but I choose peace. One of my favorite aspects of this song is of how pretty the instrumental is (like most of the songs on the album), which qualifies it for like, all of my playlists.
'Good Time' - Owl City, Carly Rae Jepsen
Another one of those songs that just makes you want to throw your hands up and dance. I guess you can call this and "oldie" but it is definitely a goodie, which is why the song is synonymous to the the title.

Carly Rae really knows how to make you feel like you're having a good time (see what I did there?) with just the press of the play button on one of her songs.
'New Romantics' - Taylor Swift
And we can not forget Tay Tay. "New Romantics" is really one of the best songs on 1989 and maybe even her entire discography. Now, we can stream the original shame-free since she owns all of her masters as of May 2025! Woohoo!
This song is really just fun. It's like your cares just go flying out the door as soon as you listen to it!
