The NFL has turned to Instagram twice to celebrate the newly engaged pair.

Captioning one post with, “What a journey,” the league shared a video montage of Swift attending Kelce’s games throughout their two-year relationship.

They also resurfaced a clip from last February, showing Swift and Kelce celebrating his Super Bowl victory, where he turns to her and says:

“I can't believe this is happening.”

Even Trump responded to the news:

“Well, I wish them a lot of luck. He’s a great player, and I think he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”

My Opinion

For any Taylor Swift fan, this announcement can feel a bit weird. In a sense, the public is not used to seeing happy Taylor in a healthy relationship, which is not writing about the gut-wrenching or punchy lyrics about struggles in relationships. We are so used to the tortured poet, the broken girl, that it’s hard for us to comprehend that she finally got her happy ending. Long story short, she survived.

This particular event is very important not only for her personal life but also for her career. We’ll finally get the showgirl who is not afraid to show off her relationship and her happiness in her music. While they haven’t announced wedding plans yet, I’m so excited for their big event. She is officially entering a new chapter of her life - she is no longer alone at the altar, but side by side with her partner.
