Wings Rewired
I had never watched any of the old Victoria’s Secret shows, but I knew about them. Just like everyone online did. Victoria’s Secret was everywhere in the 2000s and 2010s, and their runway shows had this whole dreamy, over-the-top, glamorous energy that people loved.
The models, the wings, the glitter, it was all over the place. It was phenomenal, and a lot of girls loved it back then, and still do today. I always thought it looked beautiful and kind of mesmerising. The 2024 show was not liked by a lot of people, which led to everyone wondering what the 2025 show would be like.
When the 2025 show was released, it immediately felt different in a good way. It still had that angel energy people love, but it looked more real. The models seemed comfortable and confident, and the whole show felt easier and more natural.
It was confident without being fake, and it finally felt like something made for now. Watching it, I felt like the brand had finally figured out how to keep what made it special, while actually growing up. And that is where everything starts to get interesting.

The lineup this year actually shocked me. I was not expecting it to be THIS different, but it honestly felt like a whole new era of angels.
Adriana Lima walking again was insane, the internet literally lost it, and she still has that energy like she never left. Angel Reese showed up too, and I loved that because she is known for sports, and seeing her on the runway felt so powerful and fun. Quenlin Blackwell walking was also crazy because she is literally internet culture, and she brought her own vibe instead of trying to act like the typical model type.
Barbara Palvin Sprouse walked even though she had surgery for endometriosis, and people respected her for showing up and still looking confident. Alex Consani looked stunning too, and she has such an amazing runway presence, and people talked about her a lot online.
Seeing all these different girls made the show feel more current, and it made the wings feel like they actually belong to our generation now.

Everyone Watched From Their Phones
The way the show was set up this year felt so different. It was not just a runway for the people sitting there in the audience. It felt like the main audience was online.
People were watching clips, edits, and reactions in real time, and my entire feed looked like that all night. It did not feel like a distant high fashion event anymore. It felt like content you could react to, comment on, and post about, which made it way more fun to follow.
The show looked like it was designed to be shared, saved, and talked about, and that is why everyone kept posting it. It was fashion, but also entertainment, and it was way more Gen Z coded than the old shows ever were. It is like the brand finally understood that most of us are not sitting front row, we are literally watching from our phones, and that is normal now.
Moments Everyone Freaked Out Over
There were honestly SO MANY parts of the show that became talking points online. Jasmine Tookes opening while pregnant with pearl wings was one of the first things people replayed. My jaw was literally on the ground, and everyone online reacted to it instantly.
Madison Beer performing also took over my feed. She had her whole pop star vibe going, and it felt like the show paused for a second to let her moment actually land. TWICE taking the stage was another huge highlight because their live vocals and the way they moved together felt like a full performance, not just a soundtrack moment, and they looked so good!
A lot of people loved how their Pink outfits matched the whole aesthetic and made it feel like they were part of the vision instead of just guests. Bella Hadid’s glittery silver finale look was everywhere, too. The fringe, the sparkle, the wings, all of it together looked unreal on camera. The fact that she walked next to Gigi at the end made the whole finale feel like a sister moment in front of the whole world.
Missy Elliott performing her biggest hits was also something everyone reposted, because she brought such a confident energy and made the stage feel loud in the best way. Anok Yai walked in a dramatic showgirl look, and the reaction to her outfit alone showed how much presence she has on a runway.
Angel Reese, walking as the first athlete to do two looks, had everyone talking, because she handled it like she does this every day. These were the clips people kept posting over and over, not random filler moments. Everyone's FYP literally turned into VS 2025 for days, and no one even tried to scroll past it.
Being Yourself Is The Hot Part
One thing that stood out to me this year was that the whole idea of being sexy finally looked different. It did not feel like you needed to be a certain shape, or a certain face type, or a certain personality to count. It felt like the show actually let the girls walk the way they wanted, instead of having everyone copy the same energy. You could see confidence in different forms, and that made it feel more home, and I loved it so much.
It was not about trying to look like a perfect doll. It was more like, if you own who you are and you walk with that energy, then that is enough. You could see it in the choices, the styling, the expressions, and the way the models interacted with the camera.
The attitude itself became the main part, not the body type. And honestly, that is what made this year feel new.
For me, this show basically proved that Victoria’s Secret finally understands what people actually want to see now. It was not about trying to go back to the old era, and it was not about copying other brands either.
It felt like they finally figured out how to mix the angel fantasy with real personalities, real confidence, and real moments that people cared about. You could tell they put thought into the lineup, the performances, and the overall vibe. It felt current, it felt confident, and it felt like something we could actually relate to online.
If they keep going in this direction, then this could be the start of a new era that makes sense, not just nostalgia for the old one. This show finally felt like Victoria's Secret found the perfect mix of 2025 and the old shows' nostalgia.
