To be able to pay attention in class, wake up easily in the morning, or simply not feel exhausted — sleep is essential. For teenagers, we normally need 9 to 10 hours of sleep per night.
- To help you fall asleep faster, stop using screens one hour before bed for example, replace that time with reading a book!
- Try doing breathing exercises or relaxing to feel calm before going to sleep. (You can also try meditation or yoga.)
- Drinking a warm beverage can help for example, chamomile tea (just don’t drink coffee, haha). I find it cozy and it also helps you fall asleep.
But if you suffer from insomnia, I suggest taking melatonin it might help you too! Now let's talk about your limits.

Knowing Your Limits
When it’s past 11 p.m., your eyes are burning, your head hurts, and you’re about to fall asleep on your books there’s no point in continuing to work.
Notice when you’ve had enough or when you’re getting tired. Prevent mental exhaustion and prioritize your well-being.
But managing your pressure is also something very important.
Managing Pressure
What often exhausts us the most is the pressure we put on ourselves. But remember, they’re just grades — the most important thing is that you’ve understood and enjoyed learning!
Here are some small activities that could help with your anxiety:
- Meditation or yoga
- Writing your thoughts in a journal
- Doing a physical activity
- Listening to music
And all these activities can be included in your routine!

Wellness Routine
In addition to sleep, to keep your physical health as good as your mental health, I recommend:
- Doing physical activities regularly; running every day, doing pilates in the morning, or starting dance, basketball, or football! It helps you relax and stay in shape.
- Hydration; drink 1 to 2 liters of water per day. It will give you glowing skin and help prevent headaches and fatigue.
- Healthy eating; choose fruits, vegetables, proteins… don’t eat fast food every day!
Conclusion
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, and above all, don’t prioritize your grades over your mental health. The lesson to remember is: take care of yourself!
