I Attended BLACKPINK's LA 'DEADLINE' Concert, and I Understand the Hype

Pop Culture

July 15, 2025

BLACKPINK, one of K-pop's most prominent acts - or, as many agree, the queens of K-pop - has kicked off their DEADLINE world tour. Marking this as their comeback in about 3 years, the quartet cemented their status again with a new high-energy single called "JUMP" and is touring the world as we speak! With the kickstart of their tour in South Korea, BLACKPINK has just wrapped up their second night in North America in Los Angeles, which is also the night I went to!

Personally, it was my first BLACKPINK concert, and it was an unforgettable experience. From seeing the girls live to the surprising Bruno Mars appearance (and the BTS and KATSEYE members in the audience), DEADLINE is a must for any die-hard BLINK! Here is my experience with attending BLACKPINK's DEADLINE concert, and here's why you should go in your city, too!

My Experience

First things first, it is really important to have a cute outfit (preferably one in black and pink). However, if you are someone who is prone to getting cold easily, I definitely recommend bringing a jacket or wearing warmer tops.

Tickets-wise, in my experience, if you would like floor seats, I recommend going all out for it and splurging for the front, where you could get great videos. Otherwise, you might not get a great view of the stage if there is someone tall in front of you. Everyone (or most) stands at floor seats (the chairs are foldable), and the con is that the floors are not sloped. However, if you pick the right seats, you could end up with an amazing view!

Seats that slope up (basically everything else besides floor seats) are great if you want to have a view of the whole stage and also be comfortable. I would say the first and second level seats were great! They are also great for aesthetic photos, and you can see the performers in real-time.

I tried to arrive at the venue two hours before it started, but the time got pushed back a little because of traffic. Getting into the stadium was not a problem because there were many different entrances, and you just had to scan in your tickets and go in. I found my seat easily, but make sure to double-check that you are in the right section. It is great to arrive a little early because there are fewer people, meaning it is easier to take better pictures.

If you would like to purchase merch or your lightstick at the stadium, I suggest arriving ASAP because the lines are very long. In fact, I really recommend purchasing your lightsticks and your batteries (you need three of them) before the concert. Not only are prices more affordable, but it saves you time waiting in line.

Before the concert, different BLACKPINK music videos are played. Although the concert technically started at 8:00, it was more like 8:15. You know BLACKPINK will be on soon once the "JUMP" music video plays. The lights begin to dim, and the music starts to grow louder!

Once the concert started, the energy and the vibes from both the girls and the fans were incredible. The entire stadium turned into a pink ocean, and it seemed almost impossible to me that all these people were gathered together in one place. I recorded the concert on Snapchat with dual mode, which allows you to capture both your face and the stage in one frame. It was really priceless to see my reaction when Bruno Mars started singing!

I have been a fan of BLACKPINK for a long time, so I knew most of their songs, but to any BLINKs who are more unfamiliar, I highly recommend listening to the setlist! It is much more fun when you know the lyrics to their biggest hits! It was the best time singing along with them and waving around your pink lightstick!

One tip is to stay the entire time during the concert---like, the whole time. Right before BLACKPINK takes the stage for their encore, they say goodbye, and it seems like the concert is over, but they are all just preparing for an encore! A dance challenge will go on shortly, where fans will get the chance to make it to the big screen.

Overall, I thought it was 1000/10 worth it to go see BLACKPINK, and one of the most memorable experiences ever. It was amazing to see them in my area. I had the best time at their concert, and the feeling of seeing your favorite artists live is like no other! Next time BLACKPINK is in your area, I definitely recommend going to their concert!
