If you haven't heard of the 34-year-old pop sensation, Taylor Swift, you are missing out. Miss Taylor Alison Swift has released a total of 15 albums, 11 original studio recordings, and 4 re-recordings, over a span of 18 years. Since then Swift has taken the world by storm with the start of the Eras Tour in March 2023, a 3-hour concert with songs covering every album she has recorded, including a surprise set where she will sing (or mash) new songs every night. With these insane accomplishments, she has had her dedicated group of fans by her side, Swifties.
Swifties have been seen to range from ages 1 to 100, listening contently as Taylor drops more music for fans to relate to. But like every pop star, one has their haters, who can't seem to understand the appeal. So, that begs the question, how has Taylor Swift become so adored by teens and adults alike all over the world?

She tells those who find themselves relating, that they will be okay and will learn to move on. This is the importance of Taylor's lyrics. Swift is able to teach lessons on how to deal with emotional events that affect everyone's daily lives, big or small.

Swift presents herself as a good role model for everyone watching her. She has taken a stand for the music industry, showing others that it is okay to re-record your music, especially if that means you get to own it. She has shown the music industry to fight for their rights to their music.
She teaches how to be kind and generous, inspiring the next generation to follow in her footsteps. Swift has been seen giving huge bonuses to all of her Eras Tour workers, from the truck drivers to her dancers. She shares her appreciation of them helping her put on such a large show, by sharing the profit.

She stands up for herself, and in turn shows her fans how to take action and make their voice heard. She inspires them to embrace who they are and defend it. Her iconic song, The Man, can be seen as a call to action.
She sings “'Cause if I was a man/Then I'd be the man," (Taylor Swift, The Man) in lieu of pointing out everything a man does that is cool or good, when a woman does it she is looking for attention or overreacting. She calls out the double standards on gender and reminds women they matter.
What does this add up to?
All of this explains why Taylor's fans are so committed, she gives them a voice and someone to look up to. Taylor Swift has embraced who she is, she has embraced her femininity, she has embraced her voice and her story. By doing so, she has gained a loyal following who admire her, choosing to follow by example.
