"When we begin to experience the state of wholeness and perfection at our core, the clouds of discontent and ignorance starts to dissolve"
- Kamlesh Patel (Daaji)
I hate it when I have to give up something I love for something I have to do. This is a feeling we all experience, and it's one we often want to disassociate from because, why can't we do both? However, what typically happens is that we feel distressed, which can lead to unhappiness and dissatisfaction with the decisions we make in life.
Now, let's consider a second situation. Imagine arguing over something that may seem insignificant, yet it escalates into a conflict that causes you a great deal of distress. You might not even speak to that person for days, regardless of how serious the issue is. How does it feel when you later realize that you could have resolved the argument if you had kept your cool?

We've all found ourselves in situations we can't escape, not because we lack the ability, but often because we lack the wisdom. However, I’m here to tell you that when life throws you lemons, you can make lemonade through meditation. I often hear people say that meditation is boring, that they fall asleep, or that it just isn’t for them.
Trust me, ten years ago, I felt the same way. Then, life took an unexpected turn, and I found myself distressed. That’s when I met my master, and under his influence, started meditating, and I’m so grateful I did. I can’t imagine going back to how things were, as my growth has consistently improved since then.
Now, I know there are a thousand ways to meditate, but personally, I prefer Heartfulness Meditation techniques because they have worked best for me. Every time I tried a different method, I found myself returning to this one. I’d like to share how you can practice it and why it has been so effective for me.

1. Clears the mind and consciousness
Heartfulness Meditation techniques, practice the ancient yogic practice of pranahuti, which helps clear your mind and consciousness. It settles thoughts like sediment in water, allowing for clearer mental clarity and connection with your inner intelligence. To understand the benefits scientifically, we can look at a study conducted in 2011 that researched the effects of meditation and yoga practices. While the study primarily focused on mindfulness, its findings can be applied here as well.
After three weeks of practicing these techniques, MRI scans of the participants were analysed. The results showed an increase in grey matter in the brain, along with structural changes in certain areas, including parts of the cerebellum. Notably, the most significant changes were observed in areas of the brain associated with emotions, consciousness, and memory.
At the end of the study, participants exhibited greater open-mindedness, improved ability to retain information, enhanced capacity for tackling complex tasks, and a notable increase in calmness. They also demonstrated a more developed capacity for critical thinking.

2. How will that help you?
If you are a student, you likely desire certain attributes that can enhance your life. Meditation clears your mind, enhances your inner capabilities, and helps calm you down. As a result, I’ve become calm in every situation, allowing me to make the right decisions without really messing anything up. I’ve managed to balance my social life, studying, devotion, activism, and family relationships.
Depression, stress, anxiety, and tension are the leading causes of mental health issues among teenagers. One in five teenagers is silently battling depression, and nearly half of Gen Z in the USA has been clinically diagnosed with this condition. According to a survey, 7.3% of teenagers in India, aged 13 to 27, are also struggling with depression, which translates to approximately 9.8 million young people.

Depression is a strange yet powerful and silent killer of human beings. I want to emphasise that you don't have to suffer in silence. Experiencing depression is not an exaggeration or a dramatic act; accepting it is not embarrassing.
If you need to change the reality you are suffering from, asking for help is crucial. Staying silent won’t help you, but speaking up can inspire others to break this deadly cycle.
Additionally, meditation can improve your appearance. When you let go of negative thoughts, you look less puzzled and more complete, giving you a beautiful glow. This glow comes not only from skincare but also from the state of your heart.
