During summer nobody likes to wear a whole lot of makeup since you will be spending lots of time in the heat or around water. For me I've noticed that I either go complete bare face or full face of makeup… there’s just no in between. I’m no makeup artist but it seems like I always start off with just a little concealer and mascara but eventually end up with purple glitter eyeliner and contour.
So this is my go to makeup look for summer when I want to wear a little more makeup for a simple and fresh look that doesn’t feel like pounds of makeup caked on your face. I also love the really glowy makeup trend recently so you will notice I love adding lots of glowy products in my routine! Enjoy & leave a comment about your favorite summer makeup product!

Apply NowStep 1: Face & Base
My new favorite foundation has been the Maybelline fit me matte & poreless. I’ve tried the hydrate & smooth one from the same line and it was nowhere comparable! The matte & poreless lasts so much longer and gives a much smoother look and feel to my skin. For concealer, I’ve been using the Maybelline age rewind under eye corrector that has a sponge tip applicator and it is easily my new favorite concealer!
The coverage is good and as long as you set it with powder it lasts pretty long too. For powder I use the NYC translucent loose powder, to me powder doesn’t make that much of a difference and I don’t have oily skin so I don’t bother with high-end powders.
Step 2: Brows & Contour
Next step is brows. I very lightly fill them in just to define them a little with my NYX brow pencil. In summer everyone loves being very bronzed and glowy, including me! I use a big brush to bronze my face in the three formations. For my contour and blush, I use my It Cosmetics vitality disc, the highlight in the palette is amazing but I, unfortunately, ran out from loving it so much. For highlight, I’ve been using my Mac strobe cream and a powder highlight over top from a Hard candy blush palette. To brighten it up and add even more glow, I take a tiny swipe of white eyeshadow and dab it on top. I adore highlighting the tip of my nose so I make sure to add lots of glow there.
Step 4: Eyes
In summer I don’t use primer because I find my eyeshadow creases less if I just skip it. I usually switch up my eyeshadow all the time but I always love my Urban decay naked basics palette. This is such an og palette and has never let me down.
I use a light color all over my lid and the darker browns in my crease then just a touch of the shimmery white to the center and inner corners to add even more glow!! I find it way too hot in the summer to wear eyeliner and it always seems to melt off so I use black eyeshadow and smudge it into my lower lash line instead. My absolute favorite mascara is the Too faced better than sex and I have never used another mascara after trying this one!
Step 5: Lips
The last step for me is lips! I looove liquid lipsticks right now and my faves are from color pop and NYX. In this look, I went with the NYX lingerie in bedtime flirt which is a nice peachy nude color and it's so creamy!
*Extra tip!
I didn’t show this in the video but to lock everything in and make sure it stays put all day, use the Urban decay setting spray! This stuff is amazing and made my prom makeup last seriously all day and all night! And because it’s a spray, it's also super refreshing for the summer and will keep your look from melting off.
So that is my go to summer look recently! Like I said I go without any makeup at all most days but get a little carried away when I do want to wear makeup so that’s why this might seem like a lot for summer.
