The Show
Despite Rory and Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls never actually making it to this coastal MA spot, a trip to Cape Cod is right up Emily and Richard Gilmore's alley.
In season five, episode 20, the couple suggests to their granddaughter, Rory, and her then boyfriend, Logan, that Cape Cod is the perfect place for a summer home to the extent that Lorelai asks her mother if she is working for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.
The city is reminiscent of the coastal grandmother aesthetic with its beach vibes, laid-back atmosphere, and quirky shops along historic streets. With its waterfront elegance and colonial charm, the Cape is the perfect spot for a summer getaway, combining the small town appeal of Stars Hollow with the Gilmore grandparents' style.
What to Do
Given its location next to the ocean, there is no shortage of activities. Water sports (windsurfing, paddle boarding, etc), hiking local trails, shopping, and of course visiting lighthouses are common ways to pass the time.
If you're a museum lover, then Cape Cod is the perfect bucket list spot with many locations to learn about the history of the region. For example, the Whydah Pirate Museum features a gargantuan collection of shipwreck artifacts (perfect for Pirates of the Caribbean fans), and the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum shares with visitors the history of the Pilgrims' voyage across the Atlantic and their resulting settlement.
For beaches, the Cape Cod National Seashore is a popular option since the park has six beaches, sand dunes, wildlife habitats, and marshes. The U.S. National Park Service land is also home to multiple lighthouses, including the famous Highland Lighthouse, which is the oldest in Cape Cod.
Regardless of where your itinerary takes you, a trip to the Cape is 100% Gilmore-approved.

Canadian Rockies, Alberta

The Show
Have you dreamed about living the ranch life similar to your favorite characters in My Life with the Walter Boys? Are you wondering where the Netflix show calls home?
If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then consider checking out the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada, where many of the show's scenes are set. For example, the Walter's ranchouse is the real-life CL Ranch in Cochrane, a small town next to the breathtaking views of the famous Canadian mountain range.
Other scenes were filmed in Calgary and Kananaskis Country with locations including the University of Calgary, the Heritage Park Historical Village, and Elbow River Launch.
What to Do
Even if you don't plan on visiting the filming locations, the natural scenery in this Canadian province is alone worth a trip. Throughout the six months of filming, it was reported that many of the cast members and crew fell in love with the small town charm, picturesque views, and ranch life of the cities and towns in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.
Due to the region's natural beauty, spending time outdoors in one of Alberta's national parks is popular among tourists. The famous Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, and Lake Louise all call this region home, along with skywalks, Athabasca Falls, and the Canmore Cave.
At Banff, consider enjoying the hot springs, exploring Johnston Canyon, riding the gondola, hiking to the numerous lakes, waterfalls, and caves, and of course, soaking up the gorgeous views.
Whatever you decide to see, consider visiting the small, rural towns outside of Calgary to fall in love with the ranch life, just like Jackie Howard.
Wilmington, North Carolina

The Show
If you've wanted to spend time with Belly, Steven, Taylor, and the Fisher Brothers at Cousins, then a vacation to Wilmington is definitely something to consider. The Summer I Turned Pretty was primarily filmed at and around this beachfront city. For example, the boardwalk scenes were set at Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park, many beach settings, like the bonfire scene, were set at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, and even the exterior of the Fisher beach house is in Wilmington.
As the city is the backdrop for many of the beautiful panoramic shots of the famous show, you can't get closer to Cousins Beach than this.
What to Do
The city has numerous outdoor, Cousins-inspired activities, including walking along the Riverwalk, which is a wooden boardwalk lined with historic shops, restaurants, and a beautiful view.
This southern NC beach destination also features a sprawling 1700s and 1800s Historic District, a lively visual and performing arts scene, and the beautiful Airlie Garden, which looks right out of a fairytale. Beachwise, Wrightsville Beach (also a TSITP filming location) is a popular option with many water sports and barrier island excursions available. Or, for time to explore a NC state park, Kure Beach in the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area is consistently a crowd favorite for families.
If you're looking for all of the magical summertime moments, be sure to add Wilmington to your bucket list.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming

The Show
Super fans of Modern Family may remember that in season 3, episode 1, the Dunphy-Pritchett-Delgado-Tucker family took a trip to a Wymoing ranch in Jackson Hole with Haley's then boyfriend, Dylan.
Although the crew took several vacations throughout the 11-season run, Jackson Hole stands out as the most notable. The episode in which the cast pays a visit to Wyoming, "Dude Ranch," was the most viewed (and highest rated) in the entire show.
The season premiere features many interesting storylines, including Dylan proposing to Haley, Cam and Mitchell agreeing to adopt a baby boy, and Gloria standing up for Jay, set against a ranch backdrop. In addition to the numerous plotlines, the beautiful scenery of the episode, the countless outdoor activities partook by the cast, and the charm of the rural setting contrasted against Modern Family's urban one are why Jackson Hole is the perfect in-real-life vacation inspired by the screen.
What to Do
Perhaps the most well-known attraction in Jackson Hole is Grand Teton National Park. The park features many incredible hikes, such as the draw-dropping 3-mile Taggart Lake Loop and the 11-mile Table Mountain Trail, which concludes with breathtaking views of the entire park. Here, visitors can participate in many classic outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, mountaineering, and enjoying the natural beauty of the wilderness. Plus, be prepared with your camera for sightings of wild animals from bears to bison to antelope that call the Grand Tetons home.
Nearby, there are also hot springs, hot air balloon rides, an elk refuge, river sports on the Snake River, and horseback riding tours for a Modern Family-esque experience.
For nature lovers, Yellowstone National Park is located nearby as well. Depending on where you plan to begin and end your adventures, the trip will take at most a few hours and at a minimum, half an hour. But even if the drive does take a while, the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway offers gorgeous views of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem through a scenic route.

The Shows
Film and television buffs can now see real-life sets, props, and costumes (along with a plethora of BTS information) about their favorite on-screen moments through a studio tour with Warner Bros. With two locations (one in Hollywood, California and one in London, England), this immersive experience allows visitors to tour the sets and learn exclusive details about TV and movie making magic.
The Hollywood tour features Luke's Diner from Gilmore Girls, the Friends orange couch in Central Perk, Sheldon Cooper's living room from The Big Bang Theory, and countless other sets from various shows.
London's version, on the other hand, primarily features Harry Potter sets, including Diagon Alley, Hogwarts' Great Hall, Professor Sprout's Greenhouse, and many other well-known locations throughout the franchise.
What to Do
To see where your favorite shows were actually filmed, a Warner Bros. Studio Tour ticket is required. Ticket prices for the Hollywood location start at $65 for children ages 5 through 10 and $76 for anyone 11 and older. This experience includes an hour-long guided tour with 2 hours of exploring the shopping and dining options.
In addition to touring the sets, the Hollywood experience also offers a Central Perk-inspired dining experience, offering NYC treats and Friends-themed foods in a recreation of the TV show's iconic setting.
Regardless of where your summer adventures take you (or which beautiful backdrops are featured on your to-watch list shows), be sure to embrace the final weeks before school starts. This season can fly by quickly, so there's no better time than now to catch up on the latest episodes or re-watch classic favorites. As for vacations, even if you didn't have the chance to stop by Cousins Beach this year, remember that you'll always have summer.
