This "hot girl walk" became a TikTok fitness sensation almost overnight. This walk consists of walking outdoors for four miles while thinking about what you're grateful for, your goals, and how you're going to achieve them, and most importantly, thinking about how confident, hot, and beautiful you are. The best part about this trend is that you can adjust it to your desired length and speed. After all, this is about you, it’s about bettering your life.

How Did this Become Popular?
TikTok helped with the popularity of Mia Lind's initial hot girl walk video. She was looking for a way to keep her body healthy and to clear her head as a stressed-out college senior. Mia was unaware that her first walking video posted on TikTok in January 2021 would reach millions of people who were desperate for a way to change their realities.
Her walking routine helped them to become their best self and to reach their true potential in fitness and their mental state. This first video collected over 641 million views, with Lind receiving message after message from people who incorporated this walk into their lives and then had it change for the better. Now, the #hotgirlwalk carries a new meaning to the social media community.
How Does This Work?
We all know that not all trends are what they are cracked up to be, so is this one the same? The short answer is: yes, it does. Walking is an excellent form of exercise that is significantly underrated.
According to a recent study from Cambridge University, an 11-minute walk can lower your risk of stroke, heart disease, and various cancers. So, if you were to start by walking for 11 minutes, you could still do the hot girl walk trend and see great benefits in the future.

Since walking is a low-impact form of exercise, almost anyone can do it, and that means anyone can receive the benefits that come from consciously setting aside time to walk. On top of that, this is completely free! As long as you have a good pair of shoes, you’ll be good to better your physical and mental health.
According to the Mayo Clinic, walking can improve your memory and sleep, and it boosts your immune system if you choose to walk outside. This perfect form of cardio does work, even if you spend 15 minutes doing it.

If you were to spend 15-45 minutes thinking about how you are confident and how hot you are, daily, you will soon embody those beliefs. I'm sure you've heard the saying that you are what you eat; well, you are what you think. The better you think about yourself, the better you will feel, and the worse you think about yourself, the worse you will feel. This is about bettering your life one walk at a time, so trust the process and take it one step at a time.
My Experience
I had to take part in this challenge because it's a perfect way to get "me" time in a day that is crammed full of activities, homework, friends, family, and jobs. Although I did it 3 times and modified it to what I needed and what I could do.
The first time I tried this, I walked 2 miles outside and I did a lot of thinking, which was helpful because a lot was going on that day for me to process. So I think this walk helps your thoughts and essentially how you act, because after the walk, I was more focused and ready to finish my homework. So the walk acted as a brain break and a brain refresher.

The second walk was shorter, and only a mile long, but I thought a lot about this trend and how we are supposed to think about how hot we are, and I realized that I didn't 100% agree with that mantra. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be a good person first. I don't want to be just classified as a "hot" person, I want to be a good person who happens to be attractive.
I think the priorities of society make us think that we have to look a certain way to be hot, and that's not the case. Confidence is attractive, being nice is attractive, all of those good traits, all of those quirky things that you have are attractive. You don't have to look a certain way. I think this walk should focus on building your confidence and being confident in your skin, rather than the societal expectations of you.

My last walk wasn't a walk. I rode on my stationary bike and I thought about the same things, and that actually worked better for me and my schedule, and the weather. So what I have figured out is that you need to do what works best for you.
It doesn't have to be a walk, it could be anything that requires you to get up and move. Something that allows you to separate yourself from your environment and that allows you to think about whatever you haven't thought through yet.
