If you're a K-pop fan or just a casual listener, you may have noticed all the new rumours this week. On September 14, 2025, BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) and BLACKPINK’s Jennie gained attention when they were seen at a Tyler, The Creator concert in Seoul. Fans took photos and videos of them, which quickly went viral on the internet.
But, are they actually dating? Here is everything we know so far.

The fans at the concert on September 14 posted pictures that verified the presence of both V and Jennie. Some fans claimed that these two were sitting near each other (only a few seats away), while others argued that they left the concert together. But the photos are too unclear and blurry to confirm anything. Nonetheless, #VJennie began trending worldwide quickly, and new “evidence” threads emerged on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter).
However, let's be realistic: attending the same concert doesn't indicate they are in a relationship. Neither of their agencies has commented, and no credible source has evidence of them leaving the concert together.

How Did the BTS V and Jennie dating Rumors Start?
The rumours first started on December 6, 2021, when V followed Jennie on Instagram for a short time before quickly unfollowing her. After fans noticed and started making up theories, he clarified on WeVerse that Instagram's recommendation algorithm had misled him. But the damage was already done: screenshots of that follow had already circulated widely. That single click started years of intense speculation.

Leaked Photos and Legal Action
By mid-2022, unclear images emerged depicting a pair resembling V and Jennie riding together on Jeju Island. A few months later, additional personal photos (some allegedly from Jennie’s private phone) surfaced on online forums, which were later taken down by YG Entertainment.
Has BigHit or YG Entertainment Made an Official Statement?
YG Entertainment denounced the leaked photos and submitted police reports, describing them as severe breaches of privacy. The agency said in its statement:
“We have refrained from mentioning the matter or making an official statement in order to minimize any further damage. However, there have been indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs.”
However, no agency (neither YG nor BigHit) verified that the two were in a relationship.
Paris Video
Now, this is where the main rumours started. In May 2023, a short video went viral showing a couple walking by the Seine River in Paris. And you may ask, why are fans getting crazy about a normal couple walking hand-in-hand in Paris?
Well, fans were convinced it was V and Jennie. In the video, we can see a couple's outfits, which are very similar to what Jennie and V had worn at that time.
Did BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie Break-up?
Not long after the Paris video of them walking together went viral, Korean media reported through unnamed sources that the couple had discreetly separated just before V began his military service by December 2023. Once more, neither HYBE nor YG verified anything.

Are BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie Really Dating?
Well, we don't know for sure. We can speculate about a lot of things, but at the end of the day, none of them have said anything about these rumours. Here is everything we know for sure:
- V briefly followed Jennie on Instagram.
- They were filmed in Paris in 2023.
- Both of them attended a Tyler, The Creator concert in September 2025.
- YG has police records against individuals responsible for leaking Jennie’s private photos.
- All other content, from car images to high-end AI-modified clips, is still not confirmed.
My Opinion
Observing this imaginary or real relationship begin from one Instagram follow and becoming something fans are throwing tantrums for has been quite the journey, to say the least.
Some fans want a romantic story of their idols, while others want them to be single and lonely forever. All the clue hunting, posts, analysing outfits and shadows really show where we are as a society in this age. We as a society have lost the meaning and value of privacy.
These celebrities are always under public scrutiny, so it's not surprising that they want to keep their relationships and friendships close to their chest. Just because you are curious does not give you the right to violate someone's personal space.
Whether V and Jennie were ever in a relationship is primarily their concern, and we should keep in mind that their lives are none of our business. Our idols are just humans who have their personal lives when they come off the stage, and we should respect them.
