As a seasoned Girl Scout with over a decade of experience both selling and eating beloved Girl Scout cookies, I can confidently say that cookie season is in full swing! With lots of delicious Girl Scout cookie options, each year brings excitement and anticipation for the newest additions and timeless classics. In this ranking of the 2024 Girl Scout cookies, I'll rank the Girl Scout cookies in order from best to worst. So grab a glass of milk and enjoy!
1. Thin Mints
Thin Mints are a classic Girl Scout cookie. In fact, Thin Mints are the most popular Girl Scout cookie. These cookies have been a fan favorite for decades, thanks to their iconic combination of crunchy chocolate and refreshing mints.
Plus, they are completely vegan, which means while you are enjoying their delicious chocolate taste you're also supporting sustainability and animal welfare. Many people enjoy them straight out of the box, while others love them frozen for an extra cool and refreshing treat. What I enjoy most about Thin Mints is their delicious mint chocolate flavor, and how accessible they are since they are made with vegan products. Overall, to me, Thin Mints are the best Girl Scout cookie.

2. Tagalongs
Coming in second are Tagalongs. Tagalongs are yummy Girl Scout cookies with chocolate and peanut butter. They have a thick peanut butter filling, surrounded by creamy milk chocolate.
The ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is just right and it makes for the perfect combo. With Tagalongs, you can freeze them, eat them straight from the box, or mix them up into ice cream. Whatever way you choose to indulge in your Tagalongs, you're sure to experience a delightful burst of flavor! While Thin Mints may take the top spot, Tagalongs are still a great choice.

3. Adventurefuls
An Adventurefuls is a Girl Scout cookie you may not have heard of, as it's a bit of a newer addition to the Girl Scout cookie lineup. These cookies feature a delicious combination of brownie-inspired chocolate flavor with a caramel-flavored drizzle and a sprinkle of sea salt. These cookies offer a unique twist on the classic chocolate chocolate, providing a rich experience for cookie lovers.
While Adventurefuls came in third, it was a difficult choice between Tagalongs and Adventurefuls for second. Ultimately, Adventurefuls were ranked third because they are extremely filling, making it so you can't eat for than one at a time. Overall, while not as simple as Thin Mints or as classic as Tagalongs, Adventurefuls offer a new and delicious taste that appeals to many palates. If you haven't tried any Adventurefuls, then I definitely encourage you to try them out!

4. Trefoils
Trefoil Girl Scout cookies have the lightest and most basic flavor of all Girl Scout cookies, but they are still delicious! Trefoils are classic shortbread cookies that are shaped like the Girl Scout trefoil insignia, which is a symbol of the Girl Scouts organization. These cookies have a simple yet buttery flavor with a delicate texture that melts in your mouth. Plus, their simple flavor allows them to be paired with various toppings or used in recipes, such as crumbled on top of ice cream or dipped in chocolate.
Trefoils rank fourth among Girl Scout cookies for a few reasons. Firstly, while their buttery taste is enjoyable, they can become slightly plain compared to the more indulgent flavors offered by the other cookies. However, Trefoils remains a nostalgic favorite for many--including myself--evoking fun memories of kindergarten Girl Scout meetings and middle school cookie booths. Overall, while they may not be as flashy as some other Girl Scout cookies, Trefoils still hold a special place in the Girl Scout cookie lineup for their classic taste and timeless appeal.

5. Lemon-Ups
Lemon-Ups are a recently introduced cookie, having debuted only in 2020. A Lemon-Ups is a crispy lemon cookie baked with inspiring messages, such as “I am a Leader,” or “I Take Risks.” These uplifting messages are a great way to raise your spirits and infuse a positive message into your day with each delicious bite. Lemon-Ups also offer a unique twist on the traditional Girl Scout cookie lineup, bringing a new zesty burst of citrus flavor alongside the motivational affirmations.
Despite being a newer addition to the Girl Scout cookie family, Lemon-Ups quickly gained popularity thanks to their uplifting messages and tangy lemon taste.
While they may not be as traditional as some other Girl Scout cookies, Lemon-Ups offer a fresh flavor that you are sure to enjoy! The crispy texture and bright flavor make them a refreshing treat, perfect for enjoying with a cup of tea or as a pick-me-up snack throughout the day. Whether you're sharing them with friends or enjoying them solo, Lemon-Ups are sure to bring a smile to your face.
6. Toffee-Tastics
Toffee-Tastics are the first gluten-free cookie offered by Girl Scouts. These cookies feature a buttery, crunchy texture with rich, sweet toffee bits throughout. While they were created to cater to those who can't eat gluten, their appeal has spread beyond just the gluten-free community.
Still, while Toffee-Tastics offer a unique and sweet flavor, they rank on the lower side because they do not have the same appetizing texture as other classics like Thin Mints or Samoas. Both the texture and taste of Toffee-Tastic cookies are different from what I would expect from a typical cookie. However, it's worth noting that taste preferences vary greatly, and I know people who absolutely love Toffee-Tastic cookies. So while Toffee-Tastics aren't my favorite, I still encourage you to try them!

7. Do-Si-Dos
Do-si-dos are another beloved Girl Scout cookie variety, featuring a combination of crunchy oatmeal cookies sandwiched together with creamy peanut butter filling. While these cookies boast a satisfying texture and a classic peanut butter flavor, they rank seventh among Girl Scout cookies due to the stiff competition from iconic favorites like Thin Mints and Tagalongs. However, despite their ranking, Do-si-dos remain a tasty choice for those who enjoy the timeless combination of oatmeal and peanut butter.

8. Girl Scout S'mores
Girl Scout S'mores cookies are a delightful twist on the classic campfire treat. They contain the Girl Scout S’mores logo on the front and one of the 5 Girl Choice Outdoor Badges on the back. Plus, they feature a crispy graham cracker cookie with a creamy chocolate and marshmallow filling. While the combination aims to capture the essence of traditional s'mores in a convenient cookie form, it falls a bit short.
The reason I ranked Girl Scout S'mores eighth is due to personal preference. I don't particularly enjoy the taste of marshmallow and since the marshmallow flavor is a significant component of these cookies, it's understandable why they aren't my favorite.
But despite ranking eighth, Girl Scout S'mores cookies still hold a special place in the lineup, offering a unique flavor experience that many enjoy. Whether enjoyed on their own or paired with a cup of milk, these cookies contribute to the diverse and delicious offerings of Girl Scout cookie season.

9. Samoas
Samoas are a classic Girl Scout cookie! They have a chewy caramel and toasted coconut topping, drizzled with rich chocolate. While they're a favorite for many, they ended up in ninth place on my list. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of coconut flavor, which is why they didn't rank higher for me.
Despite this, I can appreciate the indulgent combination of flavors they offer. The chewy caramel, crunchy coconut, and decadent chocolate create a texture and taste experience that lots of people enjoy. For those who love coconut, Samoas are undoubtedly a top contender among Girl Scout cookies.

The 2024 Girl Scout cookie lineup offers a delightful array of treats sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. From the classic Thin Mints, loved for their refreshing minty flavor and vegan goodness, to the irresistible Tagalongs, boasting the perfect blend of peanut butter and chocolate, each cookie has its own unique charm. So remember that my ranking isn't objective and what might be my least favorite might be your favorite—and that's perfectly okay!
But even though personal preferences vary, there's something special about indulging in these iconic treats while supporting a great cause. So whether you're a fan of the coconut-infused Samoas, the zesty Lemon-Ups, or any of the other delicious options, one thing is for sure: Girl Scout cookies are a tasty tradition worth celebrating!
