The summer season is fast approaching, and we all can't wait to get to the beach, be out of school and hang out with friends on the daily. But summer always brings challenges to our normal beauty routines and life, so here are a few tips and tricks to use throughout summer to keep looking gorgeous and improve your daily routine.
1. Flyaways can be tamed with a toothbrush
With summer being hot and humid, flyaways can be a pain. With just a toothbrush and hairspray you can tame these annoying fly aways. By spraying a toothbrush with hairspray and combing down your flyaways, they will be out of site and stay down.
I personally love this tip because I have thick and frizzy hair and it always tames my flyaways!
2. Get a smooth shave and avoid razor burn
No one wants to get razor burn, especially during summer when most of your time is spent in a bathing suit. To avoid razor burn and to get a smoother shave, you want to shave towards the end of the shower. Then before you shave you want to exfoliate whatever you are shaving. You can use any exfoliant from coffee grains to a store bought exfoliant. If you do happen to get razor burn, I use a product called bikini zone which works wonders! I love it and you just apply it after you feel your razor burn and then it's gone the next day.
3. An easy way to treat sunburn
It happens to the best of us, we either forget to reapply sunscreen or don't put it on enough and BAM we are sunburnt. They are the worst, but an easy trick to take care of one is to freeze aloe vera into little ice cubes. Then you can pop an aloe vera ice cube out and just rub it all over you sunburn, making it so much easier!
4. Get perfume to last longer
Us girls all know that our perfume lasts until we walk out the door, and guys can survive a zombie apocalypse and still smell like their cologne, it's not fair! Well here's a trick to get your perfume to last longer, dab some Vaseline on the areas you will spray perfume. Then after you have applied the vaseline, you spray on your perfume and it will last longer!
5. Nail polish can give you a cool tan tattoo
To get a cute tan tattoo, you can just paint nail polish on your skin in the design you want. Once you paint your design, spend a day out in the sun. You can reapply the nail polish to get your tan tattoo to be more noticeable and spend some more time out in the sun. Don't forget your sunscreen!
6. Curing itchy mosquito bites
There are actually a few ways you can get rid of the itchiness of the ever so annoying mosquito bites. One way you can cure them is by putting a little salt on your finger and wetting it. Then rub the wet salt over the mosquito bite. Another way you can stop the itchiness is by rubbing some apple cider vinegar directly onto the mosquito bite. You also can put a lemon slice on the mosquito bite, which will stop the mosquito bite from itching.
7. Put your phone in a Ziploc baggie
I personally love this tip, I use it every time I spend time at the beach. I know everyone does not have a waterproof case on their phone, so to prevent it from getting wet or sand getting in your phone just throw it in a Ziploc baggie. You can still use your phone when it is in the Ziploc, and it will keep it safe!
8. Fitted sheets are perfect for the beach
Next time you're at the beach, bring a fitted sheet along. You can use the fitted sheet to keep the sand out, you put an object in each of the four corners to keep the sides up, and voila you have a sand free area!
9. Keep your belongings safe
You're never always around your valuables at the beach, and no one wants them to get stolen. To keep your valuables safe, put them in an empty sunscreen bottle. I personally use this all the time. Just open an empty sunscreen bottle and put your cash, credit cards and keys in there! They're safe, and then that's one less thing you have to worry about while at the beach!
10. Keep pit stains from ruining your outfit
We all know summer heat can be brutal, and sweat can definitely be embarrassing. To stop sweat stains from showing through your shirts, you can put panty liners on the inner part of your shirt where your armpit would go.
11. Make your deodorant stains disappear
Deodorant stains are a pain when you get them right before you walk out of the house and have to change. Well here is an easy way to get them off your clothes, dryer sheets. All you do is just rub the dryer sheet on the deodorant stains and it disappears like magic.
12. Quick dry nail polish and make it last longer
Painting your nails can take FOREVER to dry and then it just chips off in a couple days. But you can make it dry faster, and make it last longer. To quick dry nail polish, you can dip you freshly painted nails in a cup of ice water. I don't know what makes it dry so fast, but boy does it work. Then to get your fresh mani to last a couple days longer, reapply a topcoat every few days. I hope these tips and tricks will be useful to you all! Let me know in the comments if you guys have any I can add. Also in the comments let me know personal love stories or questions you have for me about relationships. I would like to start a weekly article of me answering your guy's questions.
