“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” That is one of my favorite quotes of all time. Chances are, you’ve heard it too. It is from the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, one of Hollywood’s greatest hits.
From a young age, I’ve loved movies. The plots, funky characters, and beautiful sets are all so captivating. Although I haven’t seen every movie out there, I have still watched a good chunk.
Rom-coms, horror, coming-of-age, and more! Here are 10 of my favorite movies that you need to watch now.

Cher from Clueless is who I aspire to be in life. Her sassy comebacks and undefeated wardrobe make her nothing short of iconic. Based in Beverly Hills, Cher is gorgeous, wealthy, and quite popular among her peers.
Clueless is a comfort movie of mine. I could watch it over and over without getting bored.
Ford v Ferrari
I don’t remember the last time I left the theater loving a movie as much as I did this one. A perfect mix of action and drama, Ford v Ferrari is the perfect film to watch if you love sports or any sort of competition. A tragic ending that truly touched me, this fascinating story might make you shed a tear.
Spider-man No Way Home
This movie recently made waves in the theaters, and rightfully so. I don’t remember a time while watching it where I got bored. The awesome cast, great plot, and stunning CGI made the film totally worth it.
Marvel films have a tendency to be funny and so was this one. Even if you haven’t seen any of the other Spider-man films, I would recommend this one.
Scream
If you’re a scary movie fan, this one's for you. I first watched this film last Halloween and while it was a tad frightening, I loved it. The acting is great and the story is so interesting.
I was always on the edge of my seat, guessing who was going to be killed next. Make sure to watch it with friends though. You don’t want to be scared alone!
Mean Girls
I don’t think any 2000s movie gets more iconic than Mean Girls. So many iconic quotes have come from the movie. My personal favorite?
"Get in loser, we're going shopping."
This is a great movie to watch with friends, or alone. You can even make an event out of it, and ask your friends to wear their best pink outfits!
Knives Out
When I first watched Knives Out, I left the theater with a brand new favorite movie. It truly just had a wow factor. The 2019 movie is a murder mystery with shocking twists and turns.
Throughout its entirety, I was on the edge of my seat trying to guess what would happen next. The story was genuinely phenomenal.
The Karate Kid
I don’t think many movies are more classic than this. From the first time I watched The Karate Kid, I fell in love with Daniel LaRusso’s story. I rooted for him till the very end.
This coming-of-age film will get you so invested, that you will have to watch every other movie that comes with it. The Karate Kid is one of my go-to recommendations and if you haven’t already, you need to give it a try.
High School Musical
Disney Channel movies tend to be a hit or miss with me, but I can full-heartedly say, I loved this movie; I loved the whole series to be honest. I think you’d be lying if you said High School Musical wasn’t a part of your childhood. Whenever I want to get a little nostalgic, I always turn to this movie.
That being said, I still listen to some of its songs today. This movie is an absolute must.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
While I don’t think the film did the book complete justice, they were pretty similar. As a lover of romance stories, this movie checked every box for me. I quickly fell in love with Lara-Jean and Peter’s story.
Luckily, if you like the movie, there are 2 others that go along with it. Even if you don’t love romance movies, give it a try!

Starring superstars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, La La Land is truly one of a kind. There’s a reason it did so well. From the stunning cinematography to the catchy soundtrack, the movie is hard not to love.
