XO Kitty Season 3: Stream Or Skip?

'XO, Kitty' season three dropped on Netflix on April 2. This season had been highly anticipated, especially since it seemed as if Kitty and Minho were finally going to get together. However, viewers have had mixed reviews of whether the season was worth watching or not.

With a little bit of time to think it over and rewatch, fans have shared their opinions online. So, if you have not watched yet, or are thinking of rewatching, you are debating between streaming or skipping. Here is everything you need to know about season three (with some opinions), and to see if this season is your next watch.

Plot

This season, the characters went through a lot. Kitty ruins Eunice's yacht performance, but scores a kiss with Minho before she leaves for the summer to help Lara Jean. Throughout this, Yuri struggles with her family's bankruptcy.

Marius, Q's secret ex-boyfriend and ex-roommate, returns to KISS. Kitty makes a "senior sunset" bucket list of things to do with her friends before their senior year is over. Marius hosts a party where he and Kitty place a bet: if she wins, he moves dorms, but if she loses, she must give up senior sunrise.

Kitty loses, but Minho still organizes it for her. Marius despises Kitty, leading him to call Minho's ex-girlfriend Gigi.

Kitty feels threatened by Gigi. While Eunice is filming a music video, Kitty causes chaos; she ruins Eunice's dress and tries to play matchmaker with Jiwon and Alex. Yuri gets a job with a fashion designer for helping Eunice with her music video.

Then, Eunice messages Minho, believing she is pregnant. Minho tries to manage her situation, but Kitty believes that it is his baby. This causes Minho and Kitty to break up.

Luckily, Eunice just had a scare, but we find out that it was Dae who would have been the father. Kitty also accidentally reveals Q and Marius's relationship, causing Jin and Q to break up.

Lara Jean comes to Seoul to comfort Kitty. At a family lunch with Jiwon, it is revealed that Jiwon is pregnant with Alex's baby. Minho offers Dae an opportunity to work with him on a music career when he gets rejected from college and Yuri enters a design competition.

Kitty gets into NYU! The whole group bands together to help Yuri with the design competition. Along the way, they all put aside their issues, except for Kitty and Minho.

Kitty's friends plan a surprise 18th birthday party for her. Alex and Jiwon both inform their families about the pregnancy and get their support. Lara Jean and Peter get back together. Minho confesses his love for Kitty at a train station, and they end up together.

Opinions

Overall, I thought that this season's plot was better than the last two. I really enjoyed getting to see the characters navigate more mature themes throughout their senior year. While the last two seasons were just lighthearted fun, this season seemed more like a teen drama show. It also made the show more realistic.

The introduction of Marius caused a ton of chaos this season. While I did not love to see Q and Jin broken up or some of the things he did to Q, I think Marius was a fantastic addition to the cast. He kept the season interesting by constantly causing drama, such as blackmailing Q, calling Minho's ex-girlfriend and sabotaging relationships.

And can we talk about Eunice's fake pregnancy? That plotline was fantastic! I loved how it impacted the drama on the season and showed a mature side of Dae. Additionally, I am so happy for Jiwon and Alex - they will be great parents.

I also loved how they incorporated more Korean into the show. It gave the show a more authentic KDrama feel and made Korean culture stand out. Personally, I loved learning more about Korean culture through this season.

Most importantly, Kitty and Minho are finally together for good! They have had a great enemies to lovers story and I am so glad they finally ended up together.

Lara Jean was the true star of the season. I loved seeing her back on my screen and watching her storyline continue. The best part of the season was the look she gave Minho when they first met - it was the perfect moment of Lara Jean being protective of her older sister.

Stream or Skip?

If you have watched the previous two seasons, I would definitely watch this season. It ties up a lot of the cliffhangers left in season two, while also having its own merits. It is also a bit more entertaining to watch than the previous seasons. The major twists and turns of this season kept viewers more invested than before because they were serious and had huge impacts on the characters.

If you are a Kitty and Minho fan, stream this season. Maybe even stream it a few times. Season three had great Kitty and Minho moments. More importantly, they finally ended up together this season!

Personally, I love 'XO, Kitty.' I think the show is fun to watch. In fact, I started watching right after season two premiered and I ended up watching the entire thing in two days. Immediately, I became a huge fan of the show. So, for me, this season was definitely a stream.

However, if you like how the first two seasons were less mature and more fun, then skip season three. While it is an interesting season, it explores plotlines that are much more serious and mature than the previous seasons. Honestly, this season had a bit of a soap opera feel, where the plotlines were dramatic and things were constantly happening. If that is not what you are interested in, then it is a safe bet to pretend that the show ended at season two.

Conclusion

This season of 'XO, Kitty' had its share of drama, romance and family bonding. The characters all grew as people, which was a really enjoyable part of the season. While it is unclear if there will be a fourth season, you can rewatch season three (or the whole show) to keep you entertained in the meantime.
