Recap of Seasons 1 and 2

Seasons 1 and 2 were eventful, to say the least. In season 1, Kitty moved to Korea to attend KISS in order to feel closer to her deceased mother and end her long-distance relationship with Dae. She discovers that Dae is in a relationship with Yuri, only to find out later that it is fake. She builds friendships, learns about herself and discovers that her mom covered up for Yuri's mom, who had a baby in high school.

In season 2, Kitty is extremely jealous of Juliana and Yuri's relationship because she has feelings for Yuri. Minho and Dae both still have feelings for Kitty, but Minho begins to date Stella. It turns out that Stella was one of Minho's father's former singing show contestants; she is using Minho to get closer to his father, who is holding a singing competition at KISS. Kitty also reconnects with family, getting her grandmother to agree to go home with her.

Season 3 Details and Trailer Recap

On February 11, Netflix announced that XO, Kitty will return for its third and final season on April 2. The season will have eight episodes, all of which will be released at the same time. Only a few details have been released about the plot of season 3.

Kitty has a plan for her perfect senior year: She will grow closer with her family, make tons of memories with her friends and finally define her relationship with Minho. However, it would not be a season of XO, Kitty without drama and unexpected surprises, which will unravel her idea of the perfect senior year.

Executive Producer Jessica O'Toole released a statement about season 3. The show will have its first episode that takes place over the summer. She noted that there will be an emphasis on romance, but friendship and adventure will be highlighted as well. This is not even the most exciting part: she confirmed that there will be more drama than the previous two seasons!

Photos of season 3 have also been released. Here is a list of the photos that have been released (take a look here).

  1. A group photo of Kitty, Minho, Dae, Yuri, Jin, Madison, Mihee and Q - episode 1.
  2. Solo shot of Kitty - episode 2.
  3. Solo shot of Minho - episode 4.
  4. Minho and Jin at a restaurant - episode 5.
  5. Juliana and Praveena smiling together - episode 1.
  6. The cast at a party - episode 2.
  7. Minho and Kitty looking at each other - episode 2.
  8. Yuri and Kitty on a rollercoaster, holding hands - episode 5.

This final season has many loose ends to wrap up. Fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to find out if Kitty and Minho are official and if they will end up together. Yuri's family is also in trouble, with her dad's assets being frozen.

Hopefully, everything will be resolved, and she will get a good ending. Additionally, Dae's relationship status was left unknown after having problems with his girlfriend.

Since it is a spin-off of To All The Boys I've Loved Before, we could even get an appearance from Laura Jean and Peter.

Predictions

These pictures have given us a good starting point for predictions. There are so many ways that this show could get more exciting, especially resolving the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of season 2. Here are some of my predictions.

One idea is that Praveena and Juliana will have a relationship. This relationship would be dramatic for both Yuri and Kitty because their exes (which they cheated on with each other) are dating. It would be even more shocking if they find out after the whole summer apart, which is realistic because that photo takes place in episode 1.

I really hope that Kitty and Minho will start dating. The previous seasons have been hinting at a relationship between the two, especially at the end of season 2 when Kitty asked Minho if she could join him on tour. In the released photo of Kitty and Minho staring at each other, they appear to be in love. While I do not believe that their relationship will be stable all season, I believe that they will end up together.

Relationship drama for Q. We know this one is coming β€” Jin and Q were already having problems because of Q's enrollment in a USC summer sports training program, forcing them to do long distance. One new confirmed character is Marius, Q's old roommate and love interest. Marius's arrival will definitely cause problems in Jin and Q's relationship β€” if they still have one.

Finally, I believe that Kitty's family will put aside their conflict. This will not be without drama, since her mom's side of the family is hesitant to reconnect. However, the show is centered around Kitty wanting to be more connected with her family. It would not make sense to leave them on bad terms, defeating the purpose of her going to school in Seoul.

Conclusion

No matter what happens, season 3 of XO, Kitty will be the most exciting yet. Between the relationships, friendships, new characters and confirmed drama, this season will hopefully be worth the wait. Check back in April for a season review! XO, Ava
