Some places you visit. Others get under your skin.
Zanzibar is the latter: all salt air, golden dust, and a heat that feels less like weather and more like a mood.

That feeling translated into something you can physically wear would be Bydee’s Zuri Bahari: equal parts shore and savannah, wild and refined, and very much not staying in its lane.
What sets this collection apart isn’t just where it was made, but how long it took, with its hand-painted prints and placement-cut cups.

The pieces feature elaborate beading and embroidery so deliberate that some pieces were in a full year in development before they were ready. This is swimwear that doesn’t do anything by accident.

Every swim piece in the collection carries an exclusive coiled serpent charm with Pantone-matched resin details, and tie-side styles are finished with hand-beaded tassel charms. It's all small details, but it's the kind that make you look twice.

Zahána: The Masterpiece
Zahána is the undoubtedly collection’s centerpiece and took a full year in the making.

What I adore the most about this design is that it crosses the line from swimwear into wearable art.
The Barcelona Top is the definitive example of the craft. On the left of the bikini top is a fully embroidered cheetah face. On the right of the bikini top is the same motif, hand-painted and layered with beading. It’s finished with a coiled serpent charm, a gold shell drop, and resin accents that feel like they’ve been pulled from the earth.

The Malaga Bottom is the cool, racy pairing to the top with minimal coverage, maximum detail. V-front embroidery frames the waistline and is finished with hand-beaded tassels.

This is the set you buy, and then immediately plan a whole trip around. Because how can you not? Just look at the thing!
Ayana: Golden Hour, Bottled
If Zahána is intricate, Ayana is lush.
It’s hand-painted in tropical foliage and deep, untamed color, softened by the kind of golden light you only find at the edge of the world.
The Prague Top wears its details quietly but firmly. It features five levels of hook adjustment at the back, and rich plum cotton trim that makes the deep blues pop. The matching Prague Bottoms feature the same two-strap look that is simply edgy-cool.

This set is designed specifically for the light of the "pinch-me" moments when the world is just a bit more vibrant and lush.
Makoa: The After-Hours
Not everything needs to be a swimsuit.

The resort wear is for the hours between the pool and wherever the night goes.
Makoa is exactly the blueprint of bitter, rich dark chocolate and sunlit clay. Specifically, the Maha Top and Melia Shirt Dress stood out to me for their oversized, semi-sheer, and entirely effortless design. They do what good resort wear should: make getting dressed feel optional.

The Maha Top is a poncho-style cover-up designed to be worn off the shoulder, with an asymmetrical hemline that's longer front and back.
The Melia Shirt Dress is the same energy in a different silhouette: an oversized mini with a removable thick sash worn low-waist, oversized cuffed sleeves with button closure, and a collar with buttons down the front.
