After the deadly and truly heartbreaking cliff-hanger left to viewers last Saturday (the 28th of December), many viewers are left with hopes and questions, as Netflix chose not to release any type of trailer for the final episodes to come. Which is leaving viewers like me, at the edge of our seats.

Of course, for those of you who are left on the edge of your seats after the most recent episodes, wondering what's next, let's regroup and find some guiding questions and some answers for what you may want to see happen next in this thrilling drama:
(1) Are Hong Hee-joo and the real Paik Sa-eon (kidnapper) alive and well after the crash and fall off the cliff?
Viewers with the most recent 2 episodes saw Hee-joo having the chance to finally protect Paik Sa-eon finally telling him that she loves him. We're left of the image of Hee-joo crashing her and the real Paik Sa-eon into the side of the road near the edge of a cliff, leaving viewers to wonder if she lives or not, and whether or not the kidnapper is still at large. As Paik Sa-eon (her husband) searches for her, the police provide him only find her car and a heel, and Paik Sa-eon is left regretting his pursuance of revenge over their relationship.
(2) How will Sa-eon find out that he is actually the true biological son of Paik Jang-ho (his fake grandfather)?
On the 3rd to last episode, it was revealed by Kyu-jin, to Paik Sa-eon's father, that shockingly, Sa-eon (Hee-joo's wife), was actually the real son of of Baek Jangho (commonly thought to be his grandfather). Viewers who were left wondering if it was true, find out in the second to last episode, through Kyu-jin, as she approaches her father-in-law in his death bed, about a sin he committed, βThe sin of replacing my son with yours,β. To which the Chairman replied, βSo, you knew all along.β.
(3) How far will Kyu-jin go to help her true son, Paik Sa-eon?
Shim Kyu-jin (the real Paik Sa-eon's mother), is seen with a confrontation at the end of the second to last episode. with Paik Sa-eon (the not real one), as he confronts and ask her why a mother of her own child, who does not know whether he is alive or not, would not cry. To which she replies, βWhy should I cry?β. The audience is left questioning whether she truly knows anything about her son being alive, and maybe where Hee-joo is; as she is arrested on suspension for murder.
(4) Will Hee-joo and Sa-eon have a happily ever after?
The second to last episode brought some unanswered questions. Is Paik Sa-eon (Hee-joo's husband) alive? What did the kidnapper Paik Sa-eon say to Hee-joo's husband that caused him to break down in front of the kidnapper. βOnly now after he's gone, do I regret it now,β One of Hee-joo's final words of the episode leaves viewers wondering if he left her, or if he passed away?
Will the couple ever be able to be together, or will a hidden secret (and possibly death) tear them apart for good? The final episode will reveal the answers to all these questions. As we head into the final episode of When the Phone Rings.
