The Milan Cortina Olympics were filled with incredible athletes, outstanding performances, and, of course, terrific outfits. This year, the looks were better than ever, with athletes looking their best before, during and after their sports. Wondering which teams won gold for having the best outfits? Gold: Norway

Team Norway absolutely crushed it with their uniforms this year. Their patterned sweaters gave off a winter apres ski vibe in the best way possible. The white fur coats are adorable and trendy, especially because they are reminiscent of the popular Alo white fur jacket.

I loved how the team had contrasting colors with their sweaters but still incorporated the other color into their looks. This was seen on the woman, where she had a red stripe on her leggings and hat. Also, the raspberry colored sweaters were the highlight of the outfit.

The women's outfits were really the standout of Team Norway. The white leggings matched perfectly with the fur jacket, with a nice contrast of navy on the sweaters. I also liked how the ski boots were left open, making the shoes a focal point of the outfit and giving an effortlessly cool look.

Silver: USA

Ralph Lauren outdoes themselves every Olympics and this year was no exception. The sweaters featured the classic Ralph Lauren American flag detail with the Olympic rings underneath. The unique feature: the top, which was patterned with a winter print.

The trousers matched well with the sweater, with the brown belt providing a nice transition between the two. However, the best part was the coats. The long cream-colored coats were perfect for this year. They were classy, timeless, yet still fun.

Another standout part of Team USA was their gear from Skims. These bags were filled to the brim with comfortable and athletic clothes, keeping Team USA comfortable while they are in the Olympic Village. My personal favorites were the tank tops โ€” they are adorable and are perfect for running to the gym or dining hall between events.

Bronze: Italy

Italy's Olympic looks screamed quiet luxury in the best way possible. Outfitted by Armani, Team Italy's looks were monochromatic and classic while simultaneously looking very warm and cozy. The minimalist design really stood out because of how simple Italy was compared to some of the other teams. While it is easy to go overboard with Olympic outfits, Italy's outfits were understated in the best way possible.

This level of timelessness was perfect for the host country's team. Although the looks appeared simple at first glance, they had many hidden elements. These include Italy's national anthem lyrics printed inside of the jackets and polo shirts.

Designer Giorgio Armani also stated that the white color of the outfits was meant to be reminiscent of the snow on the Dolomites. Armani truly outdid himself with this collection, which is sure to be remembered as one of his best.

Their opening ceremony outfits were amazing as well. The dark grey snow suits not only looked super comfortable but also were very high-fashion. The material of the snow suits was different โ€” the texture was unlike anything else at the opening ceremonies and resembled classic Armani material. I loved how the Italian flag was shown on the sleeves and the bottom of their coat; it was the perfect way to incorporate the country's colors while not having them take over the outfit.

Fourth Place: Mongolia

The only word that can describe Mongolia's Olympic outfits is wow. Heritage and modern trends were seamlessly blended together to make an unforgettable look. Designed by the Mongolian brand Goyol Cashmere, the country's culture was showcased in their fashion.

Mongolia has deep nomadic roots, which include a history of using fur, felt and leather in their clothing. These Olympic outfits were made from Mongolian materials, incorporating fur hats and gorgeous outerwear.

These outfits were a modern take on the classic deel, which is a garment worn historically in Mongolia. However, these looks had cut outs for easy movement, making it perfect for an athlete.

Mongolia provided the perfect intersection between tradition and modernity in their Olympic outfits. The rich historical and cultural context that was incorporated into these outfits makes them even more of a standout than they would have been on their own. Not to mention, these looks are fabulous.

Fifth Place: Brazil

Brazil had some great looks. Their Moncler ski outfits were outstanding. The blue star detailing reflected elements of the country's flag, while not being overbearing. The contrast of the bright white uniform to the off-white neck gaiter was great as well โ€” it gave the look an effortless aura.

Their opening ceremony outfits were a nice change from the other opening outfits. The puffer material shorts really stood out as a unique and fun feature. Also, the matching hats with green rims were perfect โ€” it looked like they were ready to go explore the Amazon rainforest (in the winter). It was a great use of the flag's color.

Finally, I loved the puffer skirt outfit. Skeleton Racer and Flag Bearer Nicole Silveira was the perfect choice to wear this look. The idea was so creative โ€” the skirt had a great fullness to it that really put the outfit together.

How her coat revealed the Brazilian flag was the cherry on top. She looked so genuinely happy and her outfit reflected this.

Conclusion

This year's Olympics were nothing short of spectacular. The athletes had amazing performances, some of which made history for their countries. As usual, brands surpassed expectations to make fashion a memorable part of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic games. While we are sure to remember Alyssa Liu and Goan Choi, brands are ensuring that this year's looks are just as memorable.
