This seat-gripping drama follows Ryohei Arisu (Kento Yamazaki), an unemployed and game-addicted young man, who finds himself mysteriously transported to a “post-apocalyptic deserted version of Tokyo.” There, he and his friends must participate in a series of deadly and bizarre games to survive. Each game is represented by a playing card. The symbols clubs (♣), diamonds (♦), hearts (♥), and spades (♠) point out their genre with the difficulty and stakes increasing with each level. As they navigate this dangerous new world, they face not only the challenges of the games themselves but also the psychological and emotional toll of the constant threat of betrayal and death.
For those who are unfamiliar with the endings of seasons 1 and 2, here's a detailed description!
In Season 1, Arisu and friends completed the last game, Ten of Hearts which is associated with emotions targeting the contestants' emotional weaknesses, while he learned more about what the dealers were asked to do after seeing the recording from Momoka's phone. This enabled him to go to a secret room inside the subway and find out that people in the real world were betting on the players because the Borderland structure was essentially a high-stakes game of gambling. Arisu and the rest were shocked when they found that the middlemen who helped with the structuring of the bets had died.
Suddenly, the face cards flash on the screen as the faces were the characters themselves. The face card, Mira who is one of the highest ranked in The Beach, was with the group when she declared that the face cards would now present themselves to let the players gather them and leave this world. However, for Arisu and the other players, an unexpected emergency broadcast interrupted the scene. The game has not yet ended; they have only finished the first stage.
Season 2 concluded after completing some complicated challenges and defeating the Queen of Hearts, Arisu and Usagi assuming they finally get to return to their world. They play the last game of the face cards and wait for transportation back to their real world. They wake up to what they perceive as reality without any recollection of the events in Borderland. As we think that the finish is reached, though, one, dreaded Joker card remains.
Sounds thrilling, right? Well, all of us viewers can't wait for season 3!

Lee, motivated by his desire to protect his bullied son, Jin-Su, creates a virus intended to make him stronger and better able to defend himself.

In the aftermath of Season 1, Cheong-san’s last effort forced him to sacrifice himself, while Nam-ra, an infected individual who expected to turn a zombie but still held within her some human aspects, chose to become a recluse, presumably as she figured out a way to live with the infection. The remaining survivors escape the school but face an uncertain future in a world ravaged by the zombie outbreak. The ending emphasizes the loss and trauma experienced by the characters while also hinting at the possibility of a new order emerging in the face of this devastating and traumatic event.
Season 2 leaves room for anticipation of the fate of Cheong-san, who sacrificed himself, and Nam-ra, who retained some humanity after being infected. Will she find a way to coexist with the infection or embrace the side effects?

Gi-hun soon learns that these games are not child's play. Each game is a deadly competition where the losers are eliminated, sometimes brutally. As the games progress, Gi-hun and the other players must face their own morals, desperation, and the worst part of human nature: "betrayal."
The finale of season 1 shows Gi-Hun and his childhood friend, Sang-Woo, competing in an exhausting game of "squid game," which is a traditional Korean children's game that consists of separating people into two groups: the attackers and the defenders. The former are tasked with trying to "tag" the latter within the boundaries of a squid-shaped court. Gi-hun is initially reluctant to kill Sang-woo, but Sang-woo, overcome with guilt and despair, stabs himself in the neck, and Gi-hun wins the game.
However, Gi-hun is badly disturbed by the incident and refuses to accept the prize money. He realizes that the mysterious "Old Man" (Player 001), whom he befriended during the games, is the mastermind of the entire plan. It has been brought home to Gi-hun, this horrific reality about the games, and the rotting system which had enabled their existence.
This bloody gruelling competition has stolen from Gi-Hun almost everything his childhood friend, Sang-woo, and his mother who died after returning from the game. Now all he has in his hands, as the lone survivor, is this huge money amount. Now what is going to do with all this dough when he's lost all of his dear ones?
Well, in Season 2 we see him; he is back! Driven by the thirst for revenge, he plays this horror game once again with new faces. In the end, Gi-Hun attempts to form a coup against the Front Man and his elite guards and launches a surprise attack on them.
However, the organization turns out to be much more powerful and resilient than Gi-hun had anticipated. Hwang In-ho, who had infiltrated the games as a participant, betrays Gi-hun, ensuring that the coup fails. In-ho, having manipulated the situation from within, ensures that the games continue to operate, crushing Gi-hun's hopes of dismantling the system.
The ending leaves us on a cliffhanger, leaving us all curious about Gi-Hun's fate. Will he be able to end this game for all? We will get our answers in Season 3.
