Roblox is going through a lot of backlash following their August 9th decision to ban the YouTuber Schlep, who is a YouTuber well known for conducting sting operations against pedophiles performing illegal activities such as grooming, s**** harassment, and other crimes on the gaming site.
When Roblox heard about the operations, they permanently banned him from the site and sent him a cease and desist letter (a letter or court order to stop doing things that are against a corporation or individual rights or they will be sued), ordering the YouTuber to halt his activities or he will be subject to legal action.
In a Twitter/X post made on August 13th, Roblox justified the ban and deemed Schlep as a “vigilante.” A vigilante is a self-appointed person who fights crime without any legal authority.
On August 15th, Schlep announced he will take legal action against Roblox.

The hashtag “#FreeSchlep” has become a national hashtag across all social media platforms. Individuals who used this hashtag have shown support and praise towards Schlep’s actions and condemned Roblox.
The same day he was banned, Schlep released a video titled “Roblox Is Threatening to Sue Me for Protecting Kids.” The video has garnered 4.7 million views and 395k likes, signifying nationwide support for the YouTuber.
The attorney general of Louisiana, Liz Murrill, sued the gaming corporation, calling the platform “the perfect place for pedophiles.” U.S. Representative Ro Khanna made a petition calling for Roblox to protect children, provide support for parents, and strengthen law enforcement protocols to punish predators.
Who is Schlep?

The famous YouTuber Schlep is a Roblox-based content creator who is known for catching predators trying to talk to minors. His sting operations led to six or more real-life arrests. He started making content in 2020, and since then, he has been making predator-catching videos under the title “Predator Hunter.” He has been seen as a hero by the Roblox community due to his work in catching predators and protecting children from such atrocities.
Is There a Future Documentary?
“To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen has been vocal about the Roblox situation and has supported Schlep on his journey to expose Roblox and predators, not only supporting but also joining him by making a documentary about the hidden s** exploitation on Roblox. Since he announced it, he has said that he has been overwhelmed by the positive feedback.
It is unclear when the documentary will be released, but Schlep released a video titled “Roblox, Take a Seat (ft: Chris Hansen), which investigated the lack of child safety protocols on the gaming platform. The video gained 6.8 million views and 595k likes, with a $500 donation from fellow content creator KreekCraft as support for Schlep.
My Reaction: Schlep is Right
I'm not going to add a filler paragraph to waste your time, so I will just say it: Schlep is in the right. His actions in preventing predators from interacting with minors on the gaming platform, not being afraid to stand up against Roblox for their heinous actions, and contacting the best people to assist him in this situation are what made me have respect for him.
From what I've seen from Roblox and how they handled the situation, it's honestly depressing and terrifying to see the most played gaming platform in the world (and my personal favorite since 2018) sacrifice their profits and players for the sole benefit of protecting the very people who are running it to the ground because of their nonexistent self-control.
