The Buildup

'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' will be released on June 12. The album was announced through an Instagram post of the album cover.

Rodrigo has been hinting at this album for a while. At her final festival performance in Montreal, Rodrigo wore a red T-shirt with the number three on it. After the show, she handed out her GUTS rings to fans. This was seen by fans as a symbolic goodbye to her 'GUTS' era.

The final example was in an American Express promo video from Oct. 2025, where she announced that she was home working on her new album.

Earlier this year, a mural was painted on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. It originally had the words "OR3" before it was replaced with the word "love" instead. Fans began speculating about what the mural could mean for her third album, including if it means that she will be writing happier love songs instead of heartbreak songs.

'drop dead'

'drop dead,' the lead single of the album, was released on April 17. It was her fourth song to debut number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It was announced through personalized pink padlocks placed on bridges in Paris, Los Angeles, New York and London. Rodrigo confirmed the message on the locks on Instagram, where she announced that 'drop dead' would be released on April 17.

The music video was released on the same day. The video was exceptional, especially because it was filmed at the Palace of Versailles. Fans are loving this song, myself included.

Personally, I loved this single. It was the perfect mix of fun and emotional. The line "One night I was bored in bed and I stalked you on the internet" is relatable to nearly everyone. Let's face it: we have all been there at some point.

Not only is this line honest, it also is a modern take on crushes. While older songs express feelings that we all go through, Rodrigo's new single relates to a more current-day experience. Instead of simply seeing people out or in the hallway, we have an instant way to connect. 'drop dead' perfectly captures this.

Rodrigo's singles never disappoint, and this one is no exception.

Tour

Just when fans thought it could not get any better, Rodrigo had a surprise for fans. She announced her third tour on April 30. "The Unraveled Tour" will begin on Sept. 25 in Hartford Ct. She has shows across the U.S., Canada and Europe. The European leg of her tour will begin on March 19 in Stockholm.

In the U.S., she will visit many of the regular tour hot spots, including Las Vegas, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc. However, she added a few additions to her tour route, such as Pittsburgh.

In Canada, she will visit Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

In Europe, she will visit Stockholm, Amsterdam, Munich, London, Paris, Milan and Barcelona.

The American Express Cardholder presale happened on May 5, before general sale on May 7 for North America.

As we all know a bit too well, trying to get tickets for tours can be difficult. Social media has coined the term "Ticketmaster war" for trying to get tickets to concerts. Fans even make videos with the sound "war is over," to express their excitement after the frustration of getting tickets.

Rodrigo continues to become more popular with each new release, so we can expect this tour to be another "ticketmaster war."

Merchandise

Similar to tickets, we can expect fans to be fighting over merchandise as well. Rodrigo has released new merchandise for pre-order on her website. Her website is interactive - it shows a bedroom with different items you can click on to go to parts of the website. It is such a fun design, making navigating her website an engaging experience.

This merchandise is honestly so cute. There are some really unique and adorable items, such as the pink karaoke microphone and cassette player and headphones set. She also used her marketing very well, by selling a padlock and key set, along with a padlock necklace.

Another great part of her merchandise drop is the clothes. The hat is so cute and the light pink is perfect for summer. The tank tops are adorable as well, especially the pink spaghetti strap tank top with the swirly lettering. The lettering on this is very fitting with what we have seen of the album so far; it is whimsical, fun and fit for summer.

I also loved how she added Versailles to her merchandise. Versailles is mentioned on a hoodie and two T-shirts. This was a great marketing idea to tie in her music video to her merchandise line because if you see the clothes and have not watched the video, it will make you look into Rodrigo's music.

You can pre-order merchandise on Rodrigo's website.

Conclusion

Rodrigo is back and better than ever. Her album, single, merchandise, and tour are exciting for fans, who are anxiously awaiting June 12. Between her creative marketing, hit single and great music video, Rodrigo is certainly creating a fun-filled wait for the album. Check back in June to see how her album does on the charts and in the eyes of her fans.
