Searching for last-minute advice on your regular decision applications? Seeking breakdowns of supplemental essay prompts or looking to get ahead during break? Between numerous student content creators and college admissions coaches, you can find guidance on everything from what questions to ask university tour guides to steps to narrow down your schools' list to ideas for brainstorming essay topics to what admission officers look for in your application.

As a high school student, I watched countless videos from college admission YouTube channels for advice on initial college research to deciding on a university. From these creators, I was able to understand how the college admission process works, which helped me craft my applications. SupertutorTV

SupertutorTV's YouTube channel is home to a wide range of college admissions advice, including how to ace your SAT/ACT, how to maximize your chances at a T20 university, and tips on building an activities list.

Led by Stanford alumna Brooke, the channel focuses on helping high school students get into their dream universities, improve their test scores, and be better prepared for college. Going into my freshman year of high school, I started watching SupertutorTV's videos to gain more insights into the college admissions and standardized testing processes.

Through easy-to-follow 5-to-15-minute videos, I learned strategies for answering Bluebook SAT questions and how to approach college essays (from advice on brainstorming topics and choosing which prompts to answer to final revisions) in addition to understanding different admissions policies, like test optional and early action.

Brooke also covers many trending topics and university admission updates, so be sure to keep up to date with this channel throughout your high school years.

Cassandra Hsiao

Not sure how to get started on your Ivy League essays? Cassandra Hsiao's channel is a great place to start.

With both advice on constructing your supplements/UC PIQs and fun vlogs, Cassandra's content is engaging and perfect for any high schooler. Her videos break down the essay prompts for schools such as Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Barnard, University of Chicago, Brown, and USC, and give concrete examples on how to best answer the questions given.

As a Yale alumna (who was accepted to 17 universities, including all 8 Ivies), Cassandra shares her own accepted essays, extracurriculars, honors and awards, admissions file, and college resume to help students put their best foot forward in their applications. When I was applying to college, I loved watching her breakdown videos of various universities' prompts as well as advice videos for tips on interviews, managing time, and setting goals.

Even if your dream school isn't an Ivy League, Cassandra's content can help you better understand what admission officers are looking for. In addition, many of her essay tips can be applied to any university's prompts, and therefore, definitely save this YouTube channel for your senior year college essay brainstorming sessions.

Gohar and Mahad Khan

Brothers Gohar Khan, MIT grad, and Mahad Khan, Harvard alum, post weekly videos on their respective channels to help students navigate college admissions, succeed in university, and plan for their post-graduate careers.

They're most famous for their short-form content covering how to choose your major, AP exam tips, and note-taking strategies. I watched both their long-form YouTube videos as well as their shorts for advice on applying to college and taking AP classes. Since most of their content is through TikToks/YouTube Shorts, Gohar and Mahad's channels are great if you are looking for short and sweet (and humorous) college admissions advice.

Even after your decisions are released, the brothers have many helpful videos on side hustle ideas and study recommendations, among others, which any college student can find helpful.

Elise Pham (Ultimate Ivy League Guide)

Harvard student Elise Pham, founder of the Ultimate Ivy League Guide, shares her advice on crafting your college admissions narrative in 10-to-20-minute videos to help you put your best foot forward in your T20 applications.

Her content covers a wide range of topics for high school students, focusing on tips for getting accepted into the Ivy League. Even if you are not a senior looking for essay advice, many of Elise's videos are still pertinent. For example, freshman and sophomores can learn about building their resumes, finding internships, growing their passion projects, and acing their coursework.

I watched many of the Ultimate Ivy League Guide's short-form content (which can be found on YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels) to better understand how to craft an application based on my core values and personal narratives. For college students, Elise's vlogs documenting her time at Harvard, from speaking at the university to her entrepreneur journey, are also fun and engaging to watch.

If you're hoping to attend an Ivy League, be sure to save Elise Pham's channel as the ultimate tool to help you at every step of the process.
