The Why.

Now, may I must say, this movie was such a good one. Like even I fell in love with it and its catchy songs. The Why is really simple.

Netflix never announced that they were doing this little movie. It just came out of nowhere. And not only that, but it was actually REALLY GOOD! They hit every note of perfection in this movie, from its actor's attractive voices and dance moves to the catchy songs that are being played on replay in our minds. This was definitely pointed towards the kids in our generation, and might I say, everyone was and still is talking about this movie. Now many people may not like it because of the title but despite the title, it really has real life problems that teens have every day. Like acceptance, anxiety, trying to change yourself. It's all in this movie.

Let's start talking about the characters.

The Characters.

Rumi, the main, main character in this movie. We see her point of view very often and in the first 6 minutes of the movie, you can already see her determination to seal the Hon moon and send out music for her adoring fans. She might seem all sweet and nice in the first few minutes of the movie, but as you dig deeper within, we find out her big secret.

Her father was a demon while her mother was a hunter. That's why Rumi is a hunter because her mother was a hunter; the Hunters are keeping the demons out of their world. Anyways, no one knows this secret except her and the woman that took her in after her mother. Because her father was a demon, she has the same marks as the demons, making her friends believe that she is one of them once they find out. Her determination is now questioned whether this really was to seal the Hon moon or was it to get rid of her marks? Either way, her marks never really went away; they were always there after the Hon moon was sealed but just in a different color. Rumi struggled with trying to find herself and accepting that her father was a hunter.

Zoe is also a hunter and is a part of the hunter trio! Zoe was the excitement of the group; her rap bars are not only fire but also her love for her trio. Later in the movie, we found out that she thought that all her notebooks that she had with whatever she had in them made her different and in her eyes, different wasn't great.

But she felt safe and felt like she belonged in her trio; their bond is truly beautiful and rare. Zoe was always the one with the ideas; she always had an idea or solution for something, making her the bright one out of the group.

Mira, the dark baddie we all know and love. While she is the choreographer of the group and is always killing it with her sick moves, she also deals with struggles from her past. She revealed how she was something her parents didn't want her to be and how she had family struggles growing up, but once she was a hunter, like Zoe, she felt like she belonged in something more.

Mira could sense anything, and she knew that something was going on with Rumi but never really knew what. Until they find out her big secret.

(This is the only picture I could find of one of the Characters that actually looked like them.)

Jinu, in his human life, abandoned his family so he could have a better life, leading to his downfall as a human, making him turn into a demon. He had been a demon for some time now and when he volunteered to help Gwi-ma in return for his memories of his past life to be gone.

But little did he know, that in the making of trying to help Gwi-ma take down Huntrix, he didn't realize that he may have fallen for the lead singer in Huntrix, Rumi. And once Gwi-ma's plan was almost complete, he helped Rumi seal the Hon moon, making everyone think that he died BUT there was a hint that he is still alive and may be coming back in the next movie!

The saga boys, while they aren't the main characters and mainly serve Gwi-ma as demons, there were little hints that some of them, like baby Saja, could have steered clear of the fight and still be alive in the human world. Maybe? Maybe not, no one really knows for sure.

Gwi-ma, the leader of all the demons, had been sending demons into the human world for some time now, stealing souls, but Huntrix was growing stronger and stronger, meaning his plans for taking over the human world were getting slimmer by the minute. That is, until he sent Jinu and the Saja boys to help his plan. Even though it was a smart move, it ended up failing, sending Gwi-ma back to the demon world.

Now, may I say, I have a theory. And that theory is that there is something more spiritual going on in this movie. Because it honestly aligns with how the world is in today's world.

With demons, people selling their souls, etc. No one knows for sure and of course it's just a theory but let me know what you think in the comments! Until next time, Luvs!
