Are you wondering how to have fun and stay connected with your friends during quarantine? Many of us have asked ourselves this question. Perhaps you have used Zoom to stay in touch with your friends, but talking to them isn't enough. Here are 5 fun games that you can play over Zoom with your friends.

1. WNRS card game

The WNRS (We're Not Really Strangers) card game is all about forming meaningful connections with others. The cards have questions that allow you to form deeper connections with existing relationships and also create new relationships. There are three levels to the game:

Level 1: Perception

Level 2: Connection

Level 3: Reflection

Final Card

Where to find it:

You can purchase the full card deck here. If you are on a budget or want to play a shorter version of the game, you can find the Quarantine Edition (digital PDF) of the card game here.

How to play:

The game is made for 2-6 players and it is very easy to play. Read the questions on the cards and answer them with your friends. Focus on what each level of the game is about.

There are some wild cards included! At the end, there is a Final Card that allows you to write a message to the other people that you are playing with. You must read the message(s) you received once all of you have finished the Zoom call and are alone!

2. Just Dance

If you like competition, this is the game for you! You can collect points while having fun and dancing to a variety of music.

Where to find it:

You can download Just Dance to your desktop or laptop. You can also download the app to use your phone as a controller.

How to play:

This game can be played with 2-4 people. Host a Zoom call to enter the party rooms and dance together. Make fun challenges with your friends, let loose, and have fun!

3. Charades

This is a fun guessing game! It is really fun to play when you are feeling up for a challenge. It has many different activities and challenges like dancing, acting, sketching, etc.

Where to find it:

You can buy different card decks or you can download the Charades app on the App Store here or on Google Play here.

How to play:

This game is for 2-10 people, and there are usually two teams. Take turns choosing a challenge from the app. Try your best to act, sing, or describe any clues. Have your friends try to guess the answer before the time is up!

4.Scavenger Hunt

This virtual version is a fun twist to the original scavenger hunt game. You can make it be a competition of who finds the most things or who can find things faster.

How to play:

It does not matter how many people are playing, there can be any number of players. Make a list of things that can be found around the house. You can also find lists on the internet, like the one in the picture below. Discuss how much points each object is worth.

Take turns choosing a person that will randomly select an object from the list. The other players must find the item as quick as they can. Make a chart to keep track of your points.

If you want to make the game more intriguing, do not make a list of objects around the house. Have the person selected randomly choose an object off the top of their head.

5. Build a story

This game is very funny and creative. You have a good laugh with your friends while you get creative and improvise.

How to play:

You can play with any number of friends. Make a list that states the order in which the players will speak. Each person can only say one word at a time.

Try to go quickly, and you will eventually start developing a story. If you want to add a fun twist to the game, have the players say words that start with the letters in the alphabet, while following the alphabets order.

I hope you have enjoyed this list of fun games and have an opportunity to try them with your friends! I know it is very hard to not be able to see them, but there are many ways to stay connected. Call them, message them, check up on them, and tell them that you love them. Although you may not be physically together, you can still have fun and connect with your friends!
