Date Ideas in London

January 01, 2020

Now Christmas is over, it is full steam ahead for summer.

Got a hot date in the hot weather? We have collected a bunch of fantastic ideas for that perfect date in London with your special someone.

From paddling in lido’s to drinking cocktails 160 meters in the sky, we have you covered; so, all you need to do is turn up!

Drink Cocktails at a Rooftop Bar

Sipping cosmo’s, overlooking the gorgeous city with an equally as gorgeous date. Sounds like a dream, right?

London plays host to many wonderful rooftops, including the Queen of Hoxton and Madison. However, the ME hotel on the Strand boasts a dazzling rooftop bar; situated on the 10thfloor, Radio Rooftop has striking views of the city, perfect for a summer’s evening.

Watch a Romantic Comedy at an Al Fresco Cinema

As the summer season approaches, outdoor cinema screens pop up all over the city. Use the creepy horror film as an excuse to cuddle up to your date and find out if they’ve really got a heart when they cry at a soppy rom-com. The Rooftop Film Club have residence in three buildings across London, each showing a range of quintessential classics and brilliant new releases.

Putt a Hole in One

Nothing like a competitive game of golf to spice a date up. Swingers West End brags two romantic, traditional seaside themed crazy golf courses, together with four glamourous cocktail bars. Whether it’s your 1st date or your 30th (who’s counting?) everybody loves a bit of crazy golf.

Fancy a Dip?

Make a splash with your date this summer and head to one of London’s fantastic outdoor swimming pools. Gazing over at your significant other doing laps while relaxing by the waterside doesn’t sound too hard right? London Fields Lido has recently has undergone a complete renovation, leaving it looking as sharp as ever.

Have a Classic Romantic Picnic

Sitting atop of Primrose Hill, eyeing up the breathtaking view of London (while you’re not gazing lovingly over at your date) is the perfect place to picnic. Flaunting both spectacular views and the cutest café’s just around the corner, Primrose Hill is probably one of the most Instagram worthy places in London.

Or if the thought of walking up a hill to the top of Primrose Hill makes your stomach turn, Clissold Park in North London boasts great green spaces, two lovely ponds, an animal enclosure, and a café, so you needn’t even pack a picnic!

Sip on Summery Gin’s at a Gorgeous Beer Garden

I don’t know about you, but when the sun comes out only two words come to mind: beer garden! While there are hundreds and hundreds of equally as dazzling beer gardens, one in particular stands out. The Faltering Fullback is located just behind Finsbury Park Station and has a grand three-story, tree-house like beer garden hidden behind what seems to be just a local boozer. Without spoiling much of the surprise, I will leave it up to you and your lucky date to discover the magic behind the back doors of The Faltering Fullback.

Look Over Views Almost as Beautiful as Your Date

If gazing overviews of London (for free might we add) is your thing, then look no further! Offering both panoramic views of the city and a botanical paradise all in one viewing gallery 43 floors up in the sky, the Sky Garden  is the perfect place to woo your date once and for all. The Sky Garden also has bars and restaurants on offer, so if you fancy a martini 160 meters in the sky, this is your calling.

Marvel Over the Grand Choice of Ice Creams at Marine Ices

Whether your date is a cookies & cream guy or a strawberry shortbread girl, Marine Ices Ice Cream Parlour has it all. Authentic Italian gelato, Marine Ices is sure to put a smile on your date’s face (right after they’ve got over the brain freeze!)
